I will upvote this every time. “We would like to hear more about how you are using Allegra” is absolutely priceless.

Pharmaceutical companies are actually legally required to find out if you’re misusing their product or taking it in an undirected way, and report that to the FDA. Well, has been that way historically, anyhow. If you even work for a pharmaceutical company and you overhear at a weekend barbecue that someone has not taken a dose or doubled a dose etc, you’re obligated to report it within 24 hours.

Yep, I used to have a special card I had to keep in my wallet. It had a special number for them to call, and half of it had space for me to write down details (who/what/where) in the event I couldn’t get them to call

We were never allowed to have fun; it’s always been a guilty pleasure at others’ expense.

We’re just so interconnected now that we often hear whose expense it is, which may or may not offset your fun.

I haven’t seen a recipe for Allegra Chicken on the box so I’m not sure that person contacted Allegra.

Reminds me of the one with the 7-11 gecko (or some animal) near a soda station. And 7-11 replies “can you tell us where this is so we can check on him and make sure he’s safe?” And they’re like no I ain’t a snitch.

Brand name for fexofenadine hayfever medication. If you don’t live in the US you probably know it under a different brand name.

Well, other people might know it under a different brand name here, thanks. It still confuses me that someone does a dish based on medicine-infused chicken…

Because they’re psychoactive in higher doses and readily available in lab quality. Not saying it’s a good idea but that’s really all it takes for something to be used as a drug.

Why would you inflict on yourself dysphoric hallucinations on yourself if you live in a country where dextromethorphan is otc (which is not even my case, as well as antihistamines)

Broke/desperate/high schooler. Mom and dad probably won’t notice if the Benadryl goes missing. The Hat Man makes sure that you only make that mistake once.

Think about how many kids huffed banana peels because of some text file Anarchist Cookbook they found online. There are probably dumbasses that fell for jenkum.

I researched the banana peel thing in middle shcool and decided it was bullshit. Tried the oregano thing and thought I was high. Didn’t try the nutmeg.

The crater makers made from empty CO2 cartridges were a lot of fun. I remember sealing them with wax and thinking about how dangerous it was having an open flame while holding something that could take off my forearm.

Never could get the iodine crystal explosive decomposition thing to work, too hard to get ahold of the precursors when I was a kid.

It’s a wonder I survived, thank jeebus I couldn’t get ahold of mercury.

Where the fuck were my parents?

If they were like mine, busy working. Also my parents both told us about how whenever a thermometer broke at school the teachers would show the kids how the liquid mercury felt to hold! They were both born in the early 50s.

I’m pretty sure it and leaded fuel and paint explains a lot of the boomer problems we’ve had over the decades.

yea there’s even a specific diagnostic code for it in the DSM, F19 other substance use disorder, where in the criteria antihistamine abuse is explicitly mentioned (and DXM/Kratom are not mentioned, even though they get the same code and are more widely abused in the USA!)

Cetirizine (Zyrtec) is pretty good and I think a tier 3 antihistamine. Allegra might be too.

If you need Zyrtec D, save a ton of money and get a separate Pseudoephedrine and Cetirizine. We get a 20 pack of generic Sudafed for $6 and a huge bottle of Cetirizine that last a year for cheap. The big bottle is around the price of a small pack of Zyrtec D.

Just raid the medicine cabinet for seasoning. Don’t follow a recipe, go with vibes. Try that jar of cough syrup, a little rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizer should help with mouth feel, what was that pack of pills that you just knocked in? Oh well, just a happy little accident.
