She did the correct thing, it was more selfish to let Tuvix live, he had no actual family or friends because he was neither Tuvok or Neelix, there’s not one logical reason that he should have been left as is.

This is just a scifi trolley problem, but easier.

The tuvix debate is an offshoot of the the most important trek debate of all. “Who is the best captain?” We won’t let the fact that there is an obvious best captain get in the way of debating over it.

I’m stealing beepbeep-chair and since the option to stop me is not written in the Rules of Acquisition, you have no economic right to stop me. If you send an army after me, you’ll be met with my 17 stolen Inquiry-class vessels, my 13 stolen Constitution III-class vessels, and my 9 stolen Excelsior-II class vessels. I am Haro of Cardassia. Do not resist.

Best captain? Yes, I’ll allow that.

Best leader? Noooo. He gives his crew waaayyyyy too much of a long tether, and is often completely absent from major events and decisions, and that’s just his command style. He is fortunate to have a crew that this works for, but there are quite a few moments where a firmer hand on the tiller would have denied us an entire episode of entertaining drama.
