For the most part, nominees aren’t subject to filibuster; the most that the Democrats can do is to slow the pace of approvals to a crawl, which they should have been doing from day 1. Next best time to do it for every nominee is today.
That’ll teach 'em!
Gumming up the Senate is about the limit of what the Democrats have the votes to do. If we wanted them to have real power, we needed to vote more of them into Congress
Yeah, except I remember when Lil bitch McConnell refused to allow ANY Obama appointees through the process. Democrats should have been doing the same thing already, but they’re just now slowing things down
People will say “But the Democrats are bad, too!” and they aren’t wrong. At least they were “Lawful Evil.” You can deal with that.
This administration is “Chaotic Evil.”
People will say “But the Democrats are bad, too!”
This is very context-dependent, but in most cases those are trolls, rubes, and idiots.
I don’t want this to be true, because people I love say that, but it is.
That…and a sternly written letter
Edit: also, that’s bullshit, because -correct me if I’m wrong, but it always seems like the Rs, when in the Minority, always seem to have some magical procedure that shits the whole thing down…and it only takes one.
Tommy Tuberville comes to mind stopping all the military promotions because his panties were in a twist.
Democrats are the Party of Complicity.
They did do things to gum up the Senate, which is exactly the kind of thing you’re describing. Schumer is saying he’s going to. And I appreciate that, even if he didn’t do it before.
The issue I have with the old dog is that he TELLS YOU… the Rs just designate some asshole and everyone throws up their hands …
