Hello, for example other trade party sent me SEPA bank transfer in correct amount, maybe even mentioning their name in a transfer note (matching their name in RetoSwap trade details), but the sending account number is different from what they have in RetoSwap.
Please kindly tell me what to do, all the cases and how to handle these cases and ideally why?
For example I can copy paste the transfer detail to the chat and ask the trade party if this transfer is theirs. And if they confirm, I can mark the money as received assuming it causes no risk for me. But what if the party does not respond and the allowed trade time-frame expires?
I think that you are telling opposite thing than Haveno is telling in a payment receipt confirmation window. It says that when account names are not matching, I should not confirm receipt but open a dispute.
Returning money seems dangerous. What if they also charge-back original amount. For example today again. Payment which I can only identify by amount. It comes from a different account than they have in Retoswap and different country, different account name (owner) - in Retoswap they inserted non name related text as their name. So how to safely deal with such a trade without exposing me to problems during possible arbitration? Or it is 100% safe for me to accept such suspicious/non-matching trade?
Usually you should be fine, especially with wise it is often some kind of business account with multiple IBANS and names, but there of course isn’t a 100% guarantee, there isn’t for any payment method besides crypto. Again, if you suspect something is not quite right, ideally tell your trade partner before they send anything, that you’d like to cancel the trade and why.
