showmeyourkizinti@startrek.websiteto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What animated TV series would you like to see being made in the future?1·3 天前My dream IP? Something based on Brubaker and Rucka’s Gotham Central. A gritty police thriller set on the streets of Batman’s home town. No super powers no special gadgets just ordinary cops dealing with the crazies. It was an amazing comic book series and I’d love to see it as a TV production. Live action or animated.
showmeyourkizinti@startrek.websiteto Television@piefed.social•What are some of the most obvious examples of TV series past and present where the writers were clearly just making it up as they went?1·3 天前You know that excepting documentaries, they’re all made right? /s
I think you’re really asking which show really went off the rails or at least pooched the endings. If you’re looking for off the rails my favourite crazy story has to be Dallas deciding that an entire season was a dream by having Pam wake up to find Bobby Ewing in the god-damn shower.

showmeyourkizinti@startrek.websiteto ADHD@lemmy.world•What are you zero-brain go-to recipes for the hard days?English4·5 天前Are you talking about when the executive function is completely offline? Because if that’s hitting hard and I’m going “I’m hungry but I can’t make anything” my go to is a quesadilla.
Seriously if I can stand and heat a frying pan, it becomes easygoing to warm up some tortillas in the fry pan and throw some cheese between them. Bingo bango bongo you’ve got a Mexican cheese sandwich.
And then as I’m eating the first one I can be making a second and maybe throw in some ham or some salami, or better yet some leftover taco meat. All of a sudden I’m not so hungry and I’m happier having eaten something and maybe I can be motivated to eat some veggies or fruit.

showmeyourkizinti@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would you do if you could transform into an invisible tiger?3·5 天前Not all women are in to a guy just because he can turn in an invisible tiger.
Yeah and I had some problems with the concept at first. Everyone was selling it as the hard science fiction show and yet it focused the proto molecule and that’s not hard science fiction. Plus I got annoyed with them spending so much time on the float but using mag-boots but not looking like they’re still in zero G. I know you can’t shoot the show on the vomit comet but really just spend more time under thrust, I’ll be happier.
I agree about how good The Expanse books are, but I’m on the other side of coin about the tv series. I had a hard time getting into the series the first time I tried to watch it. I don’t think I quite what they were doing at first but now having read the first four books I started rewatching the first season and it totally clicked this time I’m tearing through the TV series this time.

showmeyourkizinti@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever cried because of a video game?3·9 天前Yeah Atul …
Atul
Sometimes you don’t get to say goodbye and that sucks. One day they’re just gone. But with Atul I kept it together because the reason he just disappeared was that he didn’t need us. He could go to the door on his own and yeah he should have said goodbye at least but … well it sucks but I like to remember the happy frog at the party.
For me it was Stanley and Alice
Alice
God it was heartbreaking watching her mind slowly dissolve and get lost. That’s where it hit me how important Stella’s job was. How important having someone with her at the end, helping and not even saying anything just being there is. I couldn’t do it but I’m grateful for the people who can.
Stanley
Fuck as a parent that got me. Fuck you god! I know that life isn’t fair but that really wasn’t fair. And watching his mom fall apart from his eyes … Her ‘Fakenegs’ … her fear in watching his fear … I’ve never been tested like that and I hope I could do better but man I understand her failing.
showmeyourkizinti@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever cried because of a video game?4·9 天前Stovetop gives a great explanation of the mechanics so I’ll just add about the vibes. Spiritfarer is sweet and kind at its heart. The main interface of the game is giving hugs and cooking the favourite foods of your passengers. You explore both physically in your boat and in the lives of your friends, and hopefully you come to understand a little bit about life and death. And patience too, sometimes you’re not really stuck you’re just not ready yet.
showmeyourkizinti@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever cried because of a video game?12·10 天前God … Spiritfarer. What an amazing experience. I didn’t cry but quite a few times I had to put down the controller and just stare out the window. It’s not sad but it is so sad. It’s so wistful and god just loved that game.

I still don’t understand purple I only got it because it was the last four standing.
showmeyourkizinti@startrek.websiteto Books@lemmy.world•What book(s) are you currently reading or listening to? August 054·11 天前Honestly, if you’re not in to the ‘cinematic’ writing style that the writers use that doesn’t change.
I personally like the imagery. I can see the Rosi and most of the people in it, in my head. They remind me of JK Rowling in that way., but your mileage way vary.
The second book is very much a redo of the first but better. Less tropey and the women are much better written. Chrisjen is such a great character.
The plots get changed up in three and four which is good so you might like them more but I can understand it’s no for everyone.
You check the new Daredevil. There’s whole storyline about NYC cop who are way too into the Punisher.
