The top 7 bestselling phone models of 2023 are all iPhones::Every currently sold iPhone makes the top seven, except the iPhone SE.
Considering the amount of android models there are wouldn’t this be the obvious result?
Yeah, it’d be a little more meaningful if it was dictated by the OS rather than the brand.

Yeah, last paragraph:
It’s hard for any Samsung phone to stand out in the market because Samsung releases so many devices. If we look at the GSM Arena’s database for phones released from 2021–2023, Apple has released 13 phones, while Samsung has 89 different models.
What is different is that Apple took the top 7. The year before they had 8 in the top 10, but a Samsung phone was at number 4. Also interesting how high the iPhone 15 models sold despite only selling for basically 3 months.
So essentially androids water their model numbers down because there are so many different ones?

Just because something is popular, doesn’t mean it’s the best.
There is literally no “the best”
Everyone has different use cases
And nowadays there is no “the best” because no phone on the market has all the best features so many users want.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
The report tracks worldwide sales of individual smartphone models, and while hundreds of new phones are released yearly, Counterpoint says this top-10 list represents a whopping 20 percent of the worldwide market.
The iPhone 15 models rocketed to spots 5, 6, and 7 with only about three months of sales.
small size isn’t resonating with consumers, and right now, the rumor mill suggests Apple won’t be making another SE.
Samsung has plenty of expensive flagships, like the Galaxy Z Fold at $1,800, but the phones it ships at volume are all budget devices.
9 is the very bottom of Samsung’s phone lineup, the $100 Galaxy A04e, and then, at No.
These cheaper devices are frequently on sale or are available as burner phones on a two-year pre-paid plan at a big discount.
The original article contains 364 words, the summary contains 132 words. Saved 64%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
I was hoping this would be a pithy comment on the fact that pretty much every phone sold today is pretty much a copy of the iPhone without any unique features.
As if Apple hasn’t copied just as much from Android phones.
Or “PDA” phones which came before.
When has that ever been true? The original smartphone was from LG. Features in Android are usually adopted by Apple years later, like NFC.
