The agency suggests that tapping social media and open web data helps identify aliases, track movements, and detect patterns that traditional methods often miss.

Ohh… that’s why they are doing it. Because everyone knows, the very first thing you need to do if you’re targeting a particular illegal immigrant to deport, is you need to start with a bunch of random social media accounts with various aliases, which people always diligently make whenever they are using something different from their government name, and that helps you find out how you find this person you were looking for. It’s basic police work.

I thought somehow that this was a way to compile a list of people who said unkind things about the president and ICE on social media, so that once the plan reaches its next phase, those people can be “deported” too, according to all the different very public statements Trump and Stephen Miller have been saying that anyone who doesn’t like him is a terrorist.

I feel silly now, to have been concerned about that second thing.
