There’s a similar dynamic at play with Japan and occupied Korea who are terrified of both China and DPRK. Hence, the US can force all the vassals who are militarily dependent on having imperial protection to pay tribute to the empire.

That’s the official plan. But how can it work if they also expell the Mexicans? That creates a huge demand for American workers that will rise their wages, while not having the vocational training. The tariffs make sense if they make sure that Americans are competitive for everything that is consumed in America.
But everything that is exported will be much more expensive. What is the USA going to export that the world cannot buy elsewhere cheaper and produced by better trained workers?
