Transcript
A tumblr post by maryoliveoil on June 6th saying “This is so fucking funny”.
Attached to the post is a picture of a page on a magazine. It says “girl. finger her.”. It has a picture of a woman from some movie/tv show.
The second image shows the page, and the page before it that has the rest of the headline. It says “She’s this mysterious girl. The doctor can’t put his finger on what it is about her.”.
It has a reblog by rosemaryslullany with a cropped version of the first image, just containing the words “girl. finger her.” and the picture of the woman’s face.
There is a final reblog by foone which just has the word “finger” and a picture of Mike Ehrmantraut in the place of the original person.
(this alt text was annoying to write)
I think the “transcript” does a poor job conveying the image description. It’s an article spread across two physical magazine pages with the multi-line article title also partially on the second page. If the second page is taken by itself, then the only words from the title that are seen are “girl. finger her.” - each word on a separate line, all alongside an image of the character “Clara” from the TV show “Doctor Who.”
I know physical magazines aren’t so common anymore, but they haven’t entirely left social consciousness yet, have they? If so, then please just bury me now.
EDIT: fixed a word.
They still exist in doctors offices.
I didn’t know who half the people were.
Im honestly tempted to not bother with alt texts most of the time.
That’s okay, you could have just said “a woman in an old-style dress” or something along those lines. The effort is appreciated - I guess I just was surprised that the fact it was a magazine spread wasn’t pointed out to explain what was going on. Probably partly me showing my age.
