    I think this obsession with charging speeds is really getting out of hand. What’s so terrible about taking a 30 minute break every 300-400 km? Also, taking sufficient breaks while driving is important for safety.

      It’s not just the charging speed itself.

      Like the guy explains: It’s an upgrade in thermal management for EVs, i.e. rechargeable batteries get hot when you charge them, and somehow BYD is keeping their battery from overheating.

      But overheating applies when discharging batteries too, so better cooling also means better vehicle performance.

      It’s an upgrade in charging infrastructure.

      Improved convenience when charging means less market barrier to adoption.

      Etc, etc.

      But the EV and public charger has to be designed from the ground up to make this performance possible.
