Sadly we never defeated the Nazis.

We stomped out the flames, but embers have burned for 80 years. The movement has now found oxygen and is reigniting.

Have you not heard of the AfD?

yeah and until very recently they’d been excluded from politics there.

not saying recent developments are good, but that fascism has a huge lead with trump and putin.

                are you in Deutschland?

                I am.

curious what the perspective is like on the ground after all the back and forth.

From the Ground it looks like virtually every other relevant political party is trying to steal Votes from the Nazis by copying their rhetoric and agenda, while failing to cooperate with each other against the Nazi scum, and also failing (or not even trying) to improve the lives of the majority of the population. They can’t even agree to finally ban the AfD, even though there is plenty of evidence for them striving to overthrow the constitutional order.

Especially the sucking up to Nazi voters is pretty much only working in favour of the Nazis, because it is legitimising them, and people who like that sort of thing prefer to have the real deal over voting for a cheap, half arsed copy.

The media are giving the AfD Nazi scum a platform by inviting their representatives to talk shows and interviews as if they were a normal party, and are allowing them to set the narrative.

If things keep going like they are right now, the current government coalition, like its predecessor, won’t make it to the end of their term, meanwhile, the Nazis are gaining votes. If things keep going like that, we’re looking at Nazis in government within the next 4 years.

Bro why they gotta put Taiwan as a little small cannon right next to the China cannon kind of touching it, and not its own clearly distinct thing

Even in the positive propaganda, Taiwan can’t catch a break smh

Edit: I made a whole post which is just completely wrong again, what is happening

Oh. I can’t see, apparently. Never mind.

Oh, and also this is pre-Nixon, so featuring Taiwan in the role it’s being featured in is the exact opposite type of propaganda as the type of propaganda I took it to be, probably. Oops…

It’s pre Chinese communist revolution. ROC hadn’t even retreated to Taiwan yet. They were busy teaming up to defeat the Japanese imperials.

Oh shit. You are right, I should know that too; it’s in Roger Waters.

            "In the spring of '48

Mao Tse Tung got quite irate

And he kicked that old dictator Chiang, out of state"

That’s literally the only reason I would know the date lol.

Lend lease made up a small percentage of equipment used by the Red Army BTW

In total, 92.7% of the wartime procurement of railroad equipment by the USSR came from Lend-Lease,[36] including 1,911 locomotives and 11,225 railcars.[42] Trucks were also vital; by 1945, nearly a third of the trucks used by the Red Army were U.S.-built. Trucks such as the Dodge 3⁄4-ton and Studebaker 2+1⁄2-ton were easily the best trucks available in their class on either side on the Eastern Front. American shipments of telephone cable, aluminum, canned rations and clothing were also critical.[43]

Lend-Lease also supplied significant amounts of weapons and ammunition. The Soviet air force received 18,200 aircraft, which amounted to about 30 percent of Soviet wartime fighter and bomber production over the course of the war. [36] Most tank units were Soviet-built models but about 7,000 Lend-Lease tanks (plus more than 5,000 British tanks) were used by the Red Army, eight percent of war-time production.

A critical aspect of Lend-Lease was the supply of food. The invasion had cost the USSR a huge amount of its agricultural base; during the initial Axis offensive of 1941–42,[specify] the total sown area of the USSR fell by 41.9% and the number of collective and state farms by 40%. The Soviets lost a substantial number of draft and farm animals as they were not able to relocate all the animals in an area before it was captured and of those areas in which the Axis forces would occupy, the Soviets had lost 7 million of out of 11.6 million horses, 17 million out of 31 million cows, 20 million of 23.6 million pigs and 27 million out of 43 million sheep and goats. Tens of thousands of agricultural machines, such as tractors and threshers, were destroyed or captured. Agriculture also suffered a loss of labour; between 1941 and 1945, 19.5 million working-age men had to leave their farms to work in the military and industry. Agricultural issues were also compounded when the Soviets were on the offensive, as areas liberated from the Axis had been devastated and contained millions of people who needed to be fed. Lend-Lease thus provided a massive quantity of foodstuffs and agricultural products.[clarification needed][44]

According to the Russian historian Boris Vadimovich Sokolov, Lend-Lease had a crucial role in winning the war:

On the whole the following conclusion can be drawn: that without these Western shipments under Lend-Lease the Soviet Union not only would not have been able to win the Great Patriotic War, it would not have been able even to oppose the German invaders, since it could not itself produce sufficient quantities of arms and military equipment or adequate supplies of fuel and ammunition. The Soviet authorities were well aware of this dependency on Lend-Lease. Thus, Stalin told Harry Hopkins [FDR’s emissary to Moscow in July 1941] that the U.S.S.R. could not match Germany’s might as an occupier of Europe and its resources.[36]

Nikita Khrushchev, having served as a military commissar and intermediary between Stalin and his generals during the war, addressed directly the significance of Lend-lease aid in his memoirs:

I would like to express my candid opinion about Stalin’s views on whether the Red Army and the Soviet Union could have coped with Nazi Germany and survived the war without aid from the United States and Britain. First, I would like to tell about some remarks Stalin made and repeated several times when we were “discussing freely” among ourselves. He stated bluntly that if the United States had not helped us, we would not have won the war. If we had had to fight Nazi Germany one on one, we could not have stood up against Germany’s pressure, and we would have lost the war. No one ever discussed this subject officially, and I don’t think Stalin left any written evidence of his opinion, but I will state here that several times in conversations with me he noted that these were the actual circumstances. He never made a special point of holding a conversation on the subject, but when we were engaged in some kind of relaxed conversation, going over international questions of the past and present, and when we would return to the subject of the path we had traveled during the war, that is what he said. When I listened to his remarks, I was fully in agreement with him, and today I am even more so.[7]

Thank you for doing exactly the kind of nationalist dickwaving that the meme is explicitly against, I guess, including the weird usage of “Great Patriotic War”.

Never forget that 27 million Soviet citizens died in the GPW

the vast majority because Stalin repeatedly purged the military, the scientists and tons of other critical experts, then signed the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, letting the Nazis cozy right up to the border (but hey they got to rape half of poland!), THEN IGNORED HIS OWN GENERALS AND OTHER COUNTRIES WARNING HIM NAZIS WERE PREPARING TO INVADE.

And the lend lease garbage is ridiculously easy to disprove.

Norway seemed to arrange quite well with the Nazi regime. Vichy France also decided to help the Nazis in the repression and extermination of Jews, without being coerced by the Nazis. During WW2 the UK murdered up to four million people through systematic starvation in what is today’s Bangladesh. After WW2 France and the UK continued to commit atrocities including genocidal mass slaughters in their colonies. France genocided more than a million Algerians as Algerians demanded an end to the French settler colonial occupation.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vichy_anti-Jewish_legislation

The US also run concentration camps for Japanese Americans, albeit they only concentrated the people, but didn’t seek extermination like the Germans, French and Brits did.

Nazism has never been defeated. It’s ideological cousins were alive and well in many countries that are on these posters.

Norway seemed to arrange quite well with the Nazi regime.

The lawful government-in-exile was part of the Allies and the Norwegian Resistance was widespread, with the Nazi collaborationist government being largely ineffective due to a lack of legitimacy amongst Norwegians.

Vichy France also decided to help the Nazis in the repression and extermination of Jews, without being coerced by the Nazis.

Unless my eyesight is failing me, France’s flag is not on either of those posters.

During WW2 the UK murdered up to four million people through systematic starvation in what is today’s Bangladesh.

“through systemic starvation” is an outright lie. Between one and four million people starved because of a brutal convergence of factors, including British ineptitude and apathy, but by no means a systemic attempt to murder Bengalis.
