Deleted and reposted to make image show in feed (still getting used to Piefed’s differences)
FWIW, the first post showed the image in the feed, but maybe that’s just Tesseract doing its thing (it jumps through hoops to try to display images from whatever source it can find in the post data).
I shall also re-comment my response image lol.
Acting Nagus Brunt!
Brunt: Brunt, Assistant Regional Nagus.
Quark: Correction, that’s Assistant to the Regional Nagus.
Viewing in Piefed, it seems an image in a default post won’t show in the feed, you have to select “Image” post type when creating it. (I couldn’t change the type after posting.)
I read that Piefed’s going to introduce Photon. Maybe they could be persuaded to go with Tess instead.
I’m the Tess dev, and adding Piefed support has been on my backburner for a while now. Sadly my (lack of) free time has not allowed that to progress.
I knew you were the dev, but I’m ignorant of the technical issues involved and thought getting Piefed in Tess was something they had to do, not you. (Or is it both? I really don’t know.)
Piefed does have an API now, but it’s up to the app devs to use it. That’s where I haven’t even gotten started lol.
It sorta does now? Or at least Interstellar has official support and Thunder still has that experimental fork. Not that I’m pressing you bc although Tesseract is extremely awesome, being busy is something I well understand. But I think it’s ready whenever you are.
Oh wowie, in looking for a link to send you, I also see experimental support for Voyager as well!!?!! https://piefed.social/post/962895 So cool 😎
And v1.0 released too!! https://piefed.social/post/956553
Some links to API docs https://piefed.social/post/891503 and a question about it https://piefed.social/post/943590 .
Now ignore all of this until you have time to deal with it, and sweet dreams of what will come when you do:-).
The image did not show up in in Mlem or Blorp.
In the original (since deleted) post or in this one?
The original.
Thanks, I’ll try to remember to select the right post type in future.
Live and learn (hopefully)!
Don’t you fucking dare
Uhhhh…
NAGRS. People who nag. Did I get it right?
Nogos?
And this is what I got when I tried converting that Lower Decks image of Quark into the South Park style using an online AI Image generator. Princess Leia buns!
Rule 7 says no AI trash
Rule 7 is intended for posts, not comments. We tend to let community voting handle comments.
- That rule reems to refer to posts, so I assume this comment is okay. Though I don’t necessarily think that is what you were talking about.
- Even if an AI South Quark were included in the corner of the post instead of what we ended up with in the OP, I think that is still allowed. There was obviously enough manual effort put into the end result that the one AI element is not an issue.
Yeah, I didn’t just type a prompt to make the whole thing. I just thought it might be better if the Quark part was in the same style as the rest of the image.
Not everything that has been touched by AI is automatically trash.
