There have been severely bad episodes in the last decade or two. Let’s hope his didn’t suck or someone would have to say “Ha ha!”. Any episodes that stand out as particularly good?
I’ve only watched Alf and the Simpsons from those mentioned. Some things may be dated, but overall I wouldn’t yikes at the series as a whole.
I’ve also worked in production. It’s collective work. People come up with ideas, but they often have to adapt to what some other ten people are demanding, and sometimes they have to incorporate this or that.

He wrote 14 episodes of Alf and created Thornberries. The rest of those were single episodes.
The Simpsons episode was from season 2. Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment, where Homer gets pirate cable service.
