No later than 60 days after the date of this proclamation, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall supplement existing enforcement and removal operations by deputizing and contracting with State and local law enforcement officers, former Federal officers, officers and personnel within other Federal agencies, and other individuals to increase the enforcement and removal operations force of the Department of Homeland Security by no less than 20,000 officers in order to conduct an intensive campaign to remove illegal aliens who have failed to depart voluntarily.
Good thing we are saving so much money we can afford to hire 20,000 brown shirts.
The median annual salary for DHS personnel is $72k
That’s an annual expense of $1.4B in payroll alone. Billions of taxpayer dollars so trump can have his own little army.

Miller
Let me guess, they’re going to specialize in cops that have been fired for being abusive or otherwise ignoring the law. This is how correct leaders historically set up corrupt posses
Gee whiz does this have anything to do with Miller talking about denying habeas corpus ?
Looked at the quality of ICE enforcement personnel already on the front lines (faces obscured by balaclavas & masks, many in makeshift ‘uniforms’)in Newark NJ as they arrest Mayor Ras Baraka. (When does a contractor become a vigilante?)
Here’s how I see it:
- There is going to be a confrontation between ICE as an agency and the state governments of at least some of the states. They are not planning on stopping what they’re doing, and public opinion is overwhelmingly against them already and is likely to continue to turn as things get worse.
- The quality of the new recruits is going to be bad. Both in terms of their racism and propensity for violence, and in terms of their fighting skill and organization.
- I think the overall outcome of massively expanding the force will be both a hastening of that confrontation (because you know the new recruits are going to be doing some horrifying things), and a worsening of how they do in it, if it turns physical (because they will basically be a bunch of cowardly idiots at heart).
- There will be some additional suffering in the short term, as their ability to really fuck vulnerable people up at scale increases.
- God help anyone who is in ICE custody. There are already concentration camp conditions with multiple detainees dying from neglect. Adding that much more racism, incompetence, and overcrowding to the mix is going to make things much much worse.
That’s not even enough time to even on board that many employees! Background checks alone with vetting.
He’s just gonna be hiring the proud boys and other nazi shit.
Background checks have no meaning to this regime.
They pass a background check, they’re not the kind of person they’re looking for
Two neat tricks:
- Don’t give them background checks, why would you bother? They’re applying to work for Trump, of course they’re the good guys!
- They don’t need training, studies show that increased training for police REDUCES violent actions, who would want that?!?
