Get a vasectomy. Takes 15 minutes, there’s no pain and very little discomfort, and you get a doctor mandated three days to sit and play video games while your wife dotes on you.

I first heard about this about 10+ years ago. Still nothing on the market. I don’t think it will ever happen. Oppression of women is too important

Buddy they’re in human trials with the FDA to bring a male pill to the market, and this startup is selling an injection. Idk what you’re on about.

Buddy, Vasagel was announced in 2011 and has since not released anything to market. It’s been literal decades with nothing on RISUG actually being viable.

One company failed to bring an announced product to market, must be discrimination! The lack of results is proof that they’re not trying to solve the problem! Investors are committing capital in 3 different companies to fake interest in the idea in order to continue to oppress women!

Neglect of research into women’s healthcare is real, we don’t need to invent bogeymen where there isn’t one.

Okay, apparently in your world simply pointing out that research was started over a decade ago with no tangible results is oppressing women.

Well good luck with your leaps in logic they and your persecution complex.

What? The guy I replied to said “oh where are the products on market, I guess oppressing women is too important”. That was literally the point of my comment was how absurdist of a take that was for the same reason you just said.

If you’re not interested in children or finished having them, I highly recommend a vasectomy using modern techniques. It’s a quick outpatient procedure with very small incisions. While all surgery carries risk, it is very low risk. Best $100 (with insurance) I ever spent.

My (now ex-) wife had a rough pregnancy, with our daughter ending up being born about 2 months premature. Her OB said that any future pregnancies would result in her being on bed rest after about 3 months. While we had originally wanted 2 kids, we made the decision that I should get snipped. Got it done on Thursday morning and spent the weekend playing video games with an ice pack on my nuts. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Yeah, it really is not that bad. I know it can be a hard sell to many men, though, understandably. It can take a bit of mental fortitude to allow someone to take a blade to your tenders. 🤣

Even though female birth control comes with disproportionately more side effects, some men still refuse.

Agreed! While I’ve never wanted children, I had to wait a considerable time before a doctor would perform a vasectomy on me. I think that there should be continued research into temporary male birth control for those who may want children. There have been several promising non-hormonal methods that I would like to either see approved or have wider adoption. I also believe that we need continued education on condom use, as STIs disproportionately affect women.

That would be the dream. And condoms are underrated.

I also hope the chance of getting baby trapped goes down a little bit too. Won’t stop birth control sabotage, but it would still help.

Just be careful and make sure you follow the testing protocols after your procedure. Some people have…redundancy.

Definitely! Fortunately, I went to a doc who only performed vasectomies and had his own testing company that was included in the cost along with any follow-up that might be needed. They make it out to me, and I mailed it back, no problem.

You got this! I was hesitant myself, but once I submitted the application and they got approval from insurance, things rolled on their own momentum. All I had to do was show up and then send back the testing kit they mailed out to me.
