I’d like to think they got an alert that their vehicle was being towed and got to watch the whole thing through the cameras.
You would think… but that’s $100 a month service (which explains why no sentry mode is catching Tesla vandals)
EDIT: DOWN VOTE ME YOU FUCKS! (its only $10 a month)
Premium connectivity is $100/year not per month.
Thanks for that. Thats much more reasonable. (will quit saying otherwise)
I would pay $100 a year for features like that…
With that said, I still wonder where the hell are all the sentry mode videos of vandalism?
I remember at launch of the feature seeing a handful of things but not so much as of late
It’s very interesting that we aren’t seeing those.
I probably spent at least four hours watching footage of people caught by those cameras a few years ago.
The main thing it gets you is being able to view the cabin camera when on sentry or dog mode. Live traffic visualization and media streaming are the other useful things.
LMFAO, Tesla is the biggest con. Imagine paying monthly for something built into your car that could be recorded to local storage. 🤣🤣🤣
Or streamed directly to your device, only relayed through Tesla’s servers if necessary. This wouldn’t need much bandwidth as most connections could be directly peer-to-peer.
You know, I am just thinking of something like Tailscale or WebRTC. Though this would need a 24/7 connected app, so probably not the best solution.
Though if it were used just for the video streams that would likely help a lot too.Or maybe release some server software that you could self-host and set up the custom one in the car. That would also have the advantage of being independent and future-proof.
Would probably be OK to include in the car costs. You know, like smartphone updates. You don’t pay a monthly fee for those either.
Edit: As for car’s connectivity, it could just have a modem with user-replaceable SIM card and/or eSIM. If the current ones can’t do that, add drivers for some USB modems and USB Ethernet adapters.
I think it records to USB for free, TFCC (that freaking car company) servers get hit when streaming security feeds from car to mobile so I would expect them to charge forever
Also, brand stained forever, unless maybe maybe it sells to a hero and time passes
Edit:
Oh right, it’s prob all about the fact they have to pay someone for a cellular connection for the vehicle, so you’re also buying live traffic, streaming music, etc.
With cars beside the truck with known defects
Quite literally sweet revenge

And they said Tesla drivers are mostly innocent people, only douches drive them now
Now that fucking funny, “eh.”
lol nice! Best ice cream he ever had.
Looks like it could almost be a cornetto. I love those waffle cone treats, some of the best memories with my dad buying them for me (well I am a chubby dude heh) and if not, close enough for an 80s chubby kid from Canada. Even better when some asshole gets his comupance for being a dick. Oddly I had more of this text with a British accent in my head. Time to watch Hot Fuzz again.
Old…
New to me
Years old, as in completely unrelated to modern Elon drama.
The post title is “Keep it up Vancouver”, as if this is about current events which is misleading
