That’s just after the olives are ground up. Pressing them is a couple of steps down the line. Where the oil comes out of the press a mossy-brown in color.
All information that was in the replies of the tweet. Including several from the author herself where she talked about going on an olive orchard tour and watching them do the whole process from start to finish.

looked it up, of course it’s an erotic grinch fanfic
So they did do their research.
I have seen a shit Tom of olive oil being pressed and I have never in my life seen this. This is Chernobyl flubber that tastes like olive oil probably.
I bet the censored sentences are absolute filth.
I’ve actually known someone with skin that colour. However, that was because he had extreme kidney issues.
That’s the only one that’s the actual colour, none of the others posted are as neon green.
assuming the writer wasn’t describing an alien or whatever then what do they think pressed olive looks like
This is the book, The song of Achilles. It is about Achilles and his lover Patroclus during the Trojan war.
I haven’t personally read it, but I doubt aliens figure in heavily.
Is that the one with the wine coloured sea…?
yeah so what colour were they trying to describe?
they probably just meant the colour of olive oil, which is usually a tanned colour.
Still way too green or even yellow for any healthy human person, though. Definitely some serious liver or kidney issues.
or
This book is like a warm hug on a cold day. I can’t recommend it enough
I also liked this book. As an aside, you might like “A Psalm for the Wild Built”. It’s VERY similar in vibe, not fantasy though. Hard to say sci-fi as it doesn’t feel super futuristic other than sentient robots that have disappeared.
I’ll leave it there but it was the same relaxed vibes of L&L.
What’s the age range suitability? Got my youngin into D&D, just need books
Edit: after reading the synopsis I think this is just too wholesome for me to poke fun at. Added to reading list.
Were you expecting Prince Charming?!?
Invader Zim…
Not all olives are making bright green oil though? Not all olives are green. Unripe olives are green and the go purple to black as they ripen. Black olives are fully ripe and d not press bright green.
#notallolives
The olives you press for oil are green though. They have a higher fat content.
And no, they are not all as green as the photo. Even without filtration, just allowing settling , the oil is much more clear. It’s still green though with the taste of olive oil, and a lot of grassy flavors.
I produce olive oil, it goes from green to yellow more or less. So you can choose, Shrek or Jaundice
What about Shrek with jaundice?
Maybe they’re just into sickly guys for the inheritance?
All olives are green (at some point) lol.
Come on people the internet is right there and you can check this kind of stuff.
I literally state that unripe olives are green.
