I do find it crazy that pcgamer is reporting this, because the rest of the news media has just faceplanted on journalism. Reminds me of the Bush Admin, when Rolling Stone Magazine was one of the only reliable sources of news thanks to the extreme corruption within the major publications.
During the first trump presidency, teen vogue was doing the actual journalism and it was crazy
Until they shut it down, Buzzfeed News had become one of the better news organizations.
You won’t believe what this priest did to get fired!
Kinda crazy when they subvert expectations like that sometimes and actually prove themselves as a journalist.
You’d think a journalist for Teen Vogue or Cosmopolitan would be a hack and then all of a sudden they drop some in-depth, well written op-ed that makes you go “what? How?..”
Like I said elsewhere, I’ve actually got a couple copies of Rolling Stone from the opening weeks/months of the Iraq Invasion (their somewhere in my personal library) and the comparison to issues from before the war is staggering. Their journalists were actually really good and when they weren’t being told to write a bunch of gobbledygook about a has-been one hit wonder, they were really capable journalists.
Rolling Stone was probably the only source of actual journalism during the Iraq Invasion for a time.
Oh the memories.
I’m sure Teen Cosmo has some great coverage as well.
Over in the UK, this got picked up by the mainstream papers. Maybe he is more well known over here. He is the type to often gets headlines for his outrageous comments.
Well, the great news is that this guy doesn’t look anything like a god-damned villain…
He looks like he stuck his tongue in the toaster.
Maybe just an off day, could be that he just got up on the wrong side of the swastika shaped bed this morning…
If you asked me what Thunderf00t would look like if he became a priest instead of a scientist/youtuber this is what id imagine.
Nailed it
Does anybody know why hes wearing a mic while speaking into another mic?
Musk’s department of government efficiency arranged the A/V for the event
A bunch of fresh high school graduates, got it.
To counterbalance the two stick up in his ass
He hates Jews.
Probably being filmed.
It’s rare that filming will want the same feed as is going to a PA. Sometimes they have to due to logistics, but they will moan about itMaybe the PA vibe can be created on post with the source material.
If the live engineer is crappy and causes feedback or echo (like on the brink of feedback) that goes straight to records. There is no way to fix it in post (well, no decent way, and takes ages to dial in something mostly acceptable ).
If it’s a “feel of being live” that’s required in post, most lavs are omni so will pick up a bunch of atmo noise. It will likely feel live by virtue of being live. I imagine they have some mics on the camera as well for atmo.Maybe the records aren’t set up for a feed from the sound desk. Maybe the sound desk isn’t able to provide a clean feed.
The lav mic is probably wireless, with the receiver direct into a camera. They don’t have any gain-before-feedback physics to contend with, so they can gain it however they want.
And if they are doing any spots not in front of the mic on stage (or a mic through the sound desk), they will need a mic anyway. If they always use the same mic, then the sound will be consistent.Better to have an independent feed.
But who cares, the guy is a piece of shit. Any videos he’s gonna put out are not for the benefit of humanity
who cares, the guy is a piece of shit. Any videos he’s gonna put out are not for the benefit of humanity.
At least history books of the future will have plenty of material to work with.
Also, are you actually the admin of shitjustworks?
Or are you squatting a misleading username?Did you conctact imaqtpie seriously? Lmao
Yeh, I did. Just looking out.
It’s odd to see an admin user name not doing admin actions.
Most mods/admins have a normal account and a different mod/admin account for when they have to put on their official hat.A very good reason, and a nice habit. Trust but verify
I’m not THE admin, I am A SysAdmin.
Every picture I’ve seen of him is different, and they’re all awful.
It is very funny that there are so many examples of people basically saying, “It wasn’t a Nazi salute, watch I’ll show you,” and then immediately ruining their lives by doing it.
They were already one half lost if they believed it was innocent in the first place.
I’m sure most of them just believed they could get away with it and then abruptly realized they did not have the same power and influence as the richest man on Earth.
They don’t really believe it’s innocent, they just want it to be ok to hate.
Besides this one, what are the others?
I could use some schadenfreude in my day
This lady who had to resign from her town council after doing it. I thought there was at least one other, but I can’t find it now.
My heart goes out to her.
Edit: Anyone hiring?
Need more of this. More pointing out the consequences which exist for anyone but the super rich. More pointing out how we are gaslighted to believe “it’s not a Nazi salute”.
People with no billions to protect them are finding out.
“While we cannot say what was in Mr. Robinson’s heart when he did this, his action appears to have been an attempt to curry favor with certain elements of the American political right by provoking its opposition,” reads a statement posted by the Anglican Catholic Church on Wednesday. “Mr. Robinson had been warned that online trolling and other such actions (whether in service of the left or right) are incompatible with a priestly vocation and was told to desist. Clearly, he has not, and as such, his license in this Church has been revoked. He is no longer serving as a priest in the ACC.”
This guy looks like he tried to fuck a power outlet.
“Nazi salute”
FTFY
I mean church in the loosest sense of the word since it was literally only created in 1997 as an offshoot because they didn’t like women becoming ordained.
No, that’s a church in every sense of the word. That is a normal thing for Christian Churches to do.
Describes a lot of churches origins, many people wanted to move forward and a healthy chunk wanted to go backwards in response.
Anglican Catholic Church
The church part of the name isn’t what really gets me. How can a schisim(from the episcopalians) of an offshoot(from the church of England) of a schisim(from the Catholic Church) proclaim itself katholikos (universal).
Meanings of words evolve. They’re refering to the belief system rather than to the original meaning and ethymology. But when you know it does sound funny.
Yeah it’s just the Catholics, with their belief in universal authority of the Pope, actually still embody that original etymology. And if there’s one group that gets hung up on the original meaning of words in other languages it’s theologians. Well, at least non evangelical theologians. Evangelicals like to invent meaning and declare the king James bible divinely inspired so who knows what’s going through their minds half the time.
Why didn’t you mention that in the article, then?
lol! Basically it’s-
Nazi Sympathizer Does Nazi Salute. Watch It Now On X!
I’d say you can’t write shit like this… but here we are, reading an article about a Nazi that links to video of the repugnant act- hosted on a Nazi-run social media platform.
It’s hilarious to me to see something actually get a priest kicked out of the Catholic church.
He’s not Catholic.
Wouldn’t “Anglican Catholic Church” mean he’s Catholic? (Genuine question!)
The “Anglican Catholic Church” is actually not affiliated with either the holy see (the “actual” Roman Catholic Church) or the Anglican Church (as headed by the Archbishop Canterbury and the King of England).
He joined it because he didn’t make the cut to become an actual Anglican Priest because of
concerns about Robinson’s “libertarian anti-woke, anti-identity politics, Covid-sceptical” political views and his use of social media, particularly Twitter, to disseminate them."
Can’t speak for the actual Anglican church because I’ve never been to the UK. But the episcopalian church, which is the american spinoff of the Anglican church, is the most accepting church I’m aware of. They regularly put up signs with a rainbow flag that say “All Are Welcome”
Not according to the Catholic church. They’re not Anglicans according to the Anglican church either.
Huh, very interesting!

So… “let’s be neither of those things by using both of their names at the same time”?
Like all Church schisms it’s “we’re the only ones who are right about how our god is supposed to be worshiped”, so they don’t feel bad about taking the names of Anglicans or Catholics because they think that those other groups are doing religion wrong, so who cares if it’s confusing.
Anglican really just means a version of the Catholic church splintered off by Anglo-Saxons, and Catholic means for everyone, so all their church name really means is a Anglican tradition, or style church for everyone. Thera millions of sects out there that use very similar titles and terminology, it’s not always misleading even if it’s confusing or obscure language.
Anglican really just means a version of the Catholic church splintered off by Anglo-Saxons
The proto-Anglicans stopped being Catholics when King Henry the 8th couldn’t get the pope to annul his marriage, so he split the English church from the Catholic church. So, for 500 years, the Anglicans haven’t been Catholics. And it has nothing to do with “Anglo-Saxons”. Anglo-Saxons are a cultural group from the middle ages. The Church of England and Anglicanism comes from centuries later and applies to the country of England under the king Henry the 8th. The Church of England and/or Anglicanism doesn’t date from the middle ages, it was effectively a political construction due to the king wanting a divorce and not to have to answer to the pope. But, the reasons behind the split don’t really matter as much as the fact that the people following churches related to that split haven’t recognized the authority of the pope for centuries, so they’re not Catholics.
In this case, the name is really misleading because the Anglicans don’t consider them to be Anglican, the Catholics definitely don’t consider them to be Catholics, and you can’t really merge the Anglican and Catholic faiths because they’re so different.
Angelican usually refers to the Church of England, a Protestant denomination.
“Catholic” usually refers to the Catholicism, a catholic denomination.
Weirdly, it means “universal”. It’s just used as a short for “Roman-Catholic”. The orthodox church is officially the “Orthodox Catholic Church”.
Gotcha! I had no clue Anglican was a protestant denomination. TIL!
How old is this photo? He definitely didn’t have that hair in the actual clip. Why is this the shot being used instead of one from the actual day of?
the fact that two mostly unrelated consequences are tied together with “and” in the title had me laughing
I saw the video of this a little earlier. He smirked with the “My heart goes out to you” part. 🤢
I heard he almost wasn’t confirmed in the church in the first place, but I didn’t know about the gaming website editorial staff resigning. Wow.
He literally wasn’t ordained by the Anglican Church because of his “anti woke” views. He joined a knock off church which wasn’t desperately to be part of the catholic church (but, and I can’t stress this enough, isn’t at all). He’s cosplaying being a vicar for clout while being a fucking worse bigot than two of the largest organised denominations.
Interesting. I only heard about him yesterday so I was going off reports I came across, all of which seem to treat him as having been an Anglican priest and one of which added he almost wasn’t ordained, but later was. Are you from the area? I know it’s certainly easy for one media outlet to make an error that is then echoed by almost every other one.
I’m British - he regularly appeared on a wannabe Fox network “GB News” alongside a similarly “anti woke activist” Lawrence Fox (who is his own flavour of unseemly), was (is?) a spokesman for UKIP - the party which drove us to Brexit. I’ve taken an interest in him when I saw his dog collar and questioned his church membership, so I occasionally check in on him to piss myself off and generally increase my blood pressure.
I also used to be a practicing Christian so I’m very into denominational splitting and infighting - he studied theology, didn’t get a job with the Church of English and was then ordained into the “Free Church of England”, where he became a bishop. He’s bounced around a few other denominations since; the Nordic Catholic Church, a Lutheran denomination, and now the Anglican Catholic Church.
Him being blocked from entering the Anglican Church of England (the real actual one which is linked to the royals) was reported in fairly mainstream news here. It seems like the church was actually pretty tight lipped on their reasoning for him not taking a position with them, and he’s basically outed himself as too bigoted for the church by handing over to the press internal communication regarding him he secured through an effective FOI request.
He’s an interesting chap.
Seems what he did was join four different churches in succession according to his Wikipedia page. The last one people are now talking about (Anglican Catholic Church) was based in the US.
