Fighting in the Middle East in the past has led to tensions in France, which is estimated to have the world’s third-largest Jewish population after Israel and the U.S., and the largest Muslim population in Western Europe.

The French government has reported 24 arrests for more than 100 antisemitic acts in France since Hamas attacked Israel on Saturday, including verbal abuse, people caught with knives near Jewish schools and synagogues and a drone equipped with a camera spotted over a Jewish cultural center. More than 2,000 cases of antisemitic speech have been reported to an online watchdog force.

It said pro-Palestinian demonstrations should be banned and those who defy bans should be arrested, ‘’because they are susceptible to disrupt public order.’’

Pro-Palestinian associations decried the move. The National Collective for a Fair and Lasting Peace between Palestinians and Israelis said it ‘’denounces this threat to freedom of expression,’’ and pledged to continue holding actions to support the Palestinian people.

Denouncing Hamas as a terrorist group, Macron called for peace efforts that would ensure both Israel’s security and a Palestinian state.

Not sure if this is seen as truthful, but it seems Israel backed lobbyists are the first to use any criticism of the Israeli gov’t, Israeli IDF, and Benjamin Netanyahu of Likud to push for censorship around the world.

Both major parties recieve money from pro-zionist backed lobbyists.

I hate the anti-semitic terror supporters who infiltrate and dominate every demonstration condemning the actions of the Israeli government and military. I don’t know the situation in France but I am well aware of the situation in Berlin. During Hamas’s attack, their supporters were seen celebrating in the streets, distributing candy. Many forms of protest have been banned in the past week because the police claim to have knowledge of the individuals behind these demonstrations. Yesterday, there was a larger demonstration where everyone pledged to condemn Hamas’s terror attack as well. At the beginning it was not banned.

      Here is a video: https://youtu.be/YhNwSaW_UTk

In the video, dominating groups can be heard shouting slogans like “Hamas Ya Shabiya!” (which roughly translates to “Hamas, movement of the people!”), “We will fight with our blood and soul for al-Aqsa!” and “Millions of us will go to Jerusalem as martyrs.”

Hamas has called for taking the fight to cities worldwide. In Germany as well as in France, there have been hundreds of anti-semitic attacks during the last days. Hitler’s nazis forcibly removed jews from their homes in Berlin to persecute them. Last week, the same buildings were marked with Stars of David. A molotov cocktail was thrown towards a packed car in the city center. Berlin must not allow these terror supporters to dominate any demonstration.

It’s a very difficult situation to solve, but they would not ban demonstrations that oppose anti-semitism.

edit: A systematic ban of all pro Palestinia demonstrations is, in my view, a violation of the right to protest.

This is the best they could come up with to hype up the threat and justify the crackdown on freedom of expression?

Is there even an allegation that the drone with a camera, aka basically all drones, was related to anything nefarious? Or could this just be a case where a hobbyist was flying the $25 toy drone he just bought but now that’s antisemitic because it was over a Jewish cultural center.

It’s honestly not that crazy for drastic reaction after the actions of a few. For example, Australia had enacted strict firearm laws after the Port Arthur massacre.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

PARIS (AP) — France’s interior minister on Thursday ordered local authorities to ban all pro-Palestinian demonstrations amid a rise in antisemitic acts since Hamas attacked Israel over the weekend.

Soon before Macron spoke in a televised address to the nation about the Mideast conflict, Paris police used tear gas and water cannon to disperse pro-Palestinian protesters who had defied a ban and demonstrated Thursday against the Israeli government.

Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin sent a directive to local prefects on Thursday, seen by The Associated Press, calling for a further tightening of security around Jewish schools, synagogues and other sites.

Earlier this week, thousands of people marched in Paris in support of Israel, and the Eiffel Tower was lit up with a Star of David and the blue and white of the Israeli flag.

Denouncing Hamas as a terrorist group, Macron called for peace efforts that would ensure both Israel’s security and a Palestinian state.

Struggling to speak as they sobbed or choked back tears, family members of missing French citizens pleaded Thursday at a news conference in Tel Aviv for help from Macron.
