Hey Dirty-Bird, your dog dragging its ass means it’s suffering and needs medical attention. It’s not cute, comfortable or clean.

Pugs, like other dogs, drag their bum, also known as “scooting,” primarily because of discomfort or irritation around their anal glands, which can become impacted or infected, causing itching and the urge to relieve the pressure by rubbing their rear end on the ground; this could be due to factors like allergies, parasites (worms), dietary issues, or even just a buildup of debris. Key reasons why dogs might drag their bum: Anal gland issues: The most common cause is where the anal glands become full, blocked, or infected. Parasites (worms): Intestinal parasites like tapeworms can irritate the anal area, causing itching and scooting. Skin infections: Bacterial or fungal infections around the anus can cause discomfort. Constipation: Hard stools can put pressure on the anal glands causing irritation.
