Edit: it’s because Google Scholar automatically counts any citation (including preprints) and even papers that no longer exist.

Now that you mentioned this, I checked whether my blog post shows up in the papers that I cited… And it does. It is being counted as a citation. I guess I have accidentally stumbled into the recipe to fool Google Scholar. Crazy. Thanks for pointing that out!!
