Another week, another challenge. It’s my turn to come up with the theme for this week.

Meet Freddy the Fork from Kevin’s Cutlery Bonanza, off highway 147 near Jay’s Tattoo Parlor! Freddy the Fork loves kiddos and you won’t believe how much forkin’ fun your kids will have! Make your reservations toooodaaaay!

    Pop-Up Pete

    Mascot for annoying pop-up ads
Description: Meet Pop-Up Pete: the ever-grinning, ever-gleaming mascot of digital disruption. With limbs crafted from the most click-baiting banner ads and a body that’s a living, blinking billboard, Pete excels at popping up when least expected—or wanted. His bright eyes are always on the lookout for the next opportunity to leap into your screen space, brandishing deals and offers with relentless cheer. And just when you think you’ve closed the last of him, there’s Pete again, as inevitable as a buffering video on a slow internet day, reminding everyone that no online experience is complete without a little uninvited interruption.

This was a lot fun to make! I used Dall-E for a change because Midjourney is nowhere near as good at precise instructions. Both the image and the description are generated.

    Workflow:

My workflow was more of a discussion with ChatGPT, I included my instructions and the different images it made along the way.

    1. Write me a description for Pop-Up Pete, annoying mascot for online ads
Pop-Up Pete is the embodiment of digital interruption. With a screen for a body and a myriad of colorful, flashing buttons, Pete has an over-the-top, gleeful expression as he springs into action. His limbs are banner ads that flutter with every movement, and his eyes gleefully shift looking for the next click. Whenever you’re deep in concentration or leisure, there’s Pete, popping up uninvited with a deal you can’t refuse—or can you? His unpredictable appearances and knack for showing up at the most inconvenient times make him the perfect mascot for the frustration of online advertisements.
    2. Can you create an image of him?
      first images
    3. That's great, can you turn him into more of a comic style?
      second image
    4. It's a bit too much and you lose the PC style of Pop-Up Pete. Could you redraw it again in a toon style? I think we're close to a winner though
      third image
    5. That's great, can you add some of the ads again? They're missing now.
      final image
    6. Can you rewrite his description based on the first image? Please retain the style of introduction of this annoying mascot in the first draft. Make sure to remind everyone how irritating and annoying he is.
