edit: updated from “search term” to “topic” for a more language-agnostic representation

This is an interesting point, is ultralight popular other places by other names?

I would expect so, why would the English term be used in other languages? At least in Finnish, the term would be “kevytvaellus” (meaning “light[weight] hiking”) and in Swedish the term “ultralätt” (lätt=light) is used at least as much as the English term.

i poked around some more and i think you’re right! google trends has 2 different ways to classify terms, “search terms” and “topics”, i believe the first one is language-specific and the second is not. thanks for bringing that point up. i’ve updated the results, what do you think?
