The only way this ends is if his own base turns on him and they drag him out of the whitehouse themselves. I don’t see this happening, even if they do turn on him.

I guess I meant, when the administration starts coming after states that primarily do mail in voting, this is what they’re taking away. It is SO easy to be an informed voter here compared to other states I’ve lived, its crazy.
Just to let you know what they’re taking away from people… There are states that mail you a voter pamphlet that has the candidate’s bios, experience listed, education listed, what groups and organizations they’re endorsed by, the issues you’re supposed to be voting on, with for and against arguments for each issue, plus counter arguments for each for and against argument stated. Then few a days later your voter ballot arrives in the mail, and you have 2-3 weeks to peruse the pamphlet, fill out your ballot and either mail it back with no postage required, or drop it off at ballot boxes around the city. As long as its collected or postmarked by 8pm the night of the election, your vote is counted, which you can check the status of your vote being counted on the city’s website. From ballot sent->ballot delivered->mailed back->ballot received->signature verification->ballot counted. And yes, they do check the signature, I’ve had it contested a few times because my signature is atrocious.
If you’re a SciFi fan, read the expanse series. It’ll reinvigorate your love of reading again. At least, it did for me.
Literally everyone is overworked and fried, in addition to being depressed about politics. My partner had a job that she got to leave at work, when she was home, she was home, all work resources were stuck at work so even if you wanted to do anything extra, you couldn’t. She would read all the time multiple books a month.
Now she works for a tech company and literally never reads. Even if she knocks off at 3, or 4pm out of sheer frustration with her project, or upper management, she’s so emotionally exhausted she doesn’t want to do half the stuff she used to after work when she was at the previous job.
But hey, the company is making record profits, and she just got a 2% raise after the company not giving raises for a few years
Alpine is an interesting choice for hosting, really curious what situation you’re hosting in that would require that level or lightness for a distro?
I don’t have a Lenovo, but a Dell Latitude that i use like a desktop, mostly plugged in next to my couch. In the bios you can set it to optimize the battery and charging for ‘primarily AC usage’, as well as set a percentage to limit charging, I think I have it set to 85%, I would assume you can do the same on a Lenovo.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it past that, if leaving it plugged in all the time is convenient, just do that. You could also probably buy a new battery on eBay and replace it if your battery is actually shot and you want better life.
The wording should be “some of us get 2 weeks a year of vacation, while these fucks get 2 weeks a year of work.”
“What then?”
“Same as it ever was!”
We all fight over resources that actually matter (like food, water, shelter and security) instead the previous things (money), for the enjoyment of our overlords.
Seriously, the people who have power to change the outcome of the future seem to either straight not be planning for this future scenario, or are planning for a horribly distopian version of this future scenario.

They turned on the public quick too. 2 weeks after RFK (or whoever) publicly said people under 65 shouldn’t be getting the vaccines anymore, and I tried to get a booster and Costco pharmacy staff was giving me the same line, worded exactly as the administration did. 14 days is all it took. I was finally able to get it after argueinf with them a bit, and the fact that I’m type 1 diabetic, and they relented. Apparently the insurance companies stopped supporting it when the administration did, immediately.
Its even worse, selling your body for someone else’s profit. I was just recently in a weird knickknack store that had taxidermy peacocks, butterflies, gems, minerals, etc… But one of the ‘etc’ was a human skeleton that the person donated their body to science in early 1900’s only to end up being for sale for the low price of $9,000 after the medical organization they donated their body to was either done with it, or the organization dissolved, or who knows what…
Pretty shitty that its legal to sell people’s fucking remains for a profit…
Won’t that just make the libraries attempt to buy more content to replace the unusable content? I say attempt because they might not have enough funding to actually replace anything anymore, but who knows.
If we do live in a simulation, can I be taken out by a corrupt memory allocation, please?
As a society we should start taking the right wing messaging further to hurt the people initially spreading the messaging.
In this example, looking at that picture:
“People should boycott the business because they don’t provide parking! Those assholes don’t need my business!”
Proton isn’t for profit? Huh TIL. Anyway, they both support Trump, so both aren’t great. Make of that what you will, sliding scale of ethics and all that…
Sooo… Maco? Or are we reserving that only for the big guy?
Nah, we won’t have fair elections by then. They could run Jesus as a candidate, he’d still lose.
