Why start at 2020? Did something in the rulebook change that I am not aware of or is there something behind it that the data is not available?

I think i saw this in a recent movie about a serial killer which was on a game show and could not take losing or something and it showed all his previous murders etcetera but i could be wrong about this since i dont remember the name of the movie anymore
