Gundam Reference
I made this to share some of my #hobby pictures, primarily #gunpla and #ActionFigures. He/Him. Once I figure this out, I may migrate to #pixelfed.

Gundam Reference@ohai.socialto Gunpla Building Community@lemmy.world•Day 35 of posting Gunpla2·10 days ago@Akaru88 You painted all of that with a Gundam Marker? And here I thought airbrushing the inner frame was too much work. Fantastic job.
Gundam Reference@ohai.socialto Gunpla Building Community@lemmy.world•Day 35 of posting Gunpla4·10 days ago@Akaru88 That looks fantastic! Wonderful metallic color. I’d be tempted just to display it like that (although I just love Zaku and Zaku adjacent suits)
@Akaru88 Only one of my 1/144 kits came with a pilot figure. Much sad. The MG’s come with a ton, though. Too bad I don’t have a 1:100 scale scene base.
@Akaru88 Those are so good
Gundam Reference@ohai.socialto Gunpla Building Community@lemmy.world•Day 21 of posting Gunpla2·24 days ago@Akaru88 I love scene bases so much. Especially that style, where it looks like they’re being built or maintained. I actually 3D printed some roughly 1:144 scale technicians for mine, although enough (relatively rare) 1:144 scale pilot figures would probably look a lot better.
@MyDarkestTimeline01 There’s a Bandai Hobby link now, so your preferred store may have it available for preorder. I know a couple US stores do. Looks like it’ll be 70 USD, a bit more than even the Vidar.
Gundam Reference@ohai.socialOPto Mobile Suit Gundam@ani.social•MG RB-79 Mobile Pod Ball Ver. Ka1·1 month ago@gundam I took another picture to demonstrate the secondary manipulators and thought it looked nice enough to post. Grass is not to scale :blobcatupsidedown:

https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/tmnt/images/9/90/Technodrome/_%2826%29.jpg/revision/latestWow you aren’t wrong. That thing is kind of creepy. I believe the RB-79 Ball here is inspired by deep sea exploration crafts, and looking at the TMNT stills they may share that inspiration.
Gundam Reference@ohai.socialOPto Mobile Suit Gundam@ani.social•MG GTO RX-78-2 (Complete)1·1 month ago@MelodiousFunk I agree. Honestly despite having never watched GTO this is still what I see when I think “RX-78-2”
Gundam Reference@ohai.socialOPto Mobile Suit Gundam@ani.social•MG GTO RX-78-2 (Complete)3·1 month ago@MyDarkestTimeline01 Thank you! I really enjoyed the build *cough besides the hands cough*.
@MyDarkestTimeline01 I’ve noticed almost all the specialized online stores I do use tend to use Shop as their back end even on their websites.
@MyDarkestTimeline01 I’ve never used Gundam Companion. I’ll keep them in mind next time I go to buy a kit online. I have a sizable backlog keeping me busy at the moment, though.
@MyDarkestTimeline01 It isn’t releasing until November. They revealed it at the Shizuoka Hobby Show 2025, so no link yet (that I can find).
@MyDarkestTimeline01 MG Barbatos is one of my wishlist kits (although now that they’ve announced MG Barbatos Lupus I will have to make a decision; I don’t have enough space for two 18 cm tall Barbatos). It’s good to hear it was a fun build!
If you like IBO, they did recently release an MG Vidar, so that’s an option. I have yet to look into any reviews for it, though.
@MyDarkestTimeline01 Thank you!
Gundam Reference@ohai.socialOPto Mobile Suit Gundam@ani.social•HG Gundam Aerial and Mirasoul4·1 month ago@Endmaker I guess since the backpack can store them they figured they would let the Mirasoul store them, too. It looks really good.
Not sure if Lemmy shows all 4 pictures; there’s one where she’s holding one of the beam sabers while it is attached to the Mirasoul

Edit: Hm, trying to mix formatting between platforms isn’t working
@Akaru88 Great build! Some gold Gundam Marker would make that heat hawk pop.
