For the longest time I assumed the Midwest was a purely descriptive term based on location and not one that was defined… Finding out Ohio was in the Midwest blew my mind.

I think I’d want to do something a bit more ambitious, thats just one tiny scrap of leather and like, two stitches, unless you were thinking of some kind of embellishment to it that I’m missing.
That looks really great, love it! I’m dreading to think how long the stitching on the strap took…
At least in the UK which has a lot of common signage with the rest of Europe you normally just have a red circle sign (generally prohibitive orders) with the picture of a disallowed vehicle in. Or a blank interior for ‘no vehicles’. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/traffic-signs
April (I’m going hard mode trying not to think of -a and -e ending names)

My krypronite… I got a cheese advent calendar with a bunch of teeny tiny jars of pickle… I have yet to find a use for them but i’m certain they will be useful.
At christmas a supermarket here had fancy pate in little tiny kilner jars, after christmas they all got reduced to like, pennies, so i bought a ton of them. Currently using them to make little chia seed desserts.
I tend to avoid baking and im being quite hard on myself in regards to a diet atm so not really keen on eating carbs and sugar…
When I do bake its normally a victoria sponge, i’ve made a few and not messed them up too badly so far.
Dead Set. Written by Charlie Brooker of Black Mirror fame about a bunch of contestants in the Big Brother tv show when the zombie apocalypse kicks off outside. 5 episode mini-series.
Yeah, i decided against those as when buying cheap its at least hard to make a bad lump of metal vs a more intricate tool. The manual setters are at least cheap but I was having a look at the bigger lever machines and they are more reasonably priced than I had assumed so may invest in one soon.
Thank you! These were all done with manual setters, the little anvils and rods and a hefty rawhide hammer. I’d love to invest in one of those big lever presses, I live in terror of mashing a rivet or snap and not being able to remove it.
Thats really kind of you to say. I’d actually love to have a brand and store of my own as a side hustle one day, my artist friend has already agreed to swap me a logo for a choker! I’m really enjoying it still, so many things to learn.
Thank you! I started early in March so just under 2 months now. I make a lot of my own patterns too, but this was somebody else’s pattern, once I get an idea of how the construction works I then like to draft my own so I’ll likely work on my own pattern for them soon.
I’m working my way up to bigger items as I accumulate more tools, hardware and skills. I’d love to make a bag but I’ve mostly been using offcuts up until now which have been ideal for making bracelets and accessories.
I’ve been continuing my leatherworking and I made some glasses cases! They are pretty quick to make so feel quite nice to maybe make as gifts.
Good to know that trans people losing rights in the UK isn’t a ‘real issue’ close to his own life and that it doesn’t have any knock on effect for cis and trans women’s safety. Thanks for making sure we are all aware of that fact.
Made a fun little spiked leather bracelet
I’m fully aware of how the system works, thank you very much for explaining at me. I’m saying the ruling itself is arse backwards and jumps to a lot of baseless and genuinely misogynistic conclusions. It is difficult to read it as an objective clarification on anything, let alone a positive one.
In which case the ruling, even if one was to accept it as a valid interpretation, let alone its effect on people involved, is arse backwards and has the potential to cause significant harm in the short term.
Decades of gender = sex in legal wording, documents and policy makes it very difficult to detangle the intent of what is meant by sex or gender in each case.
This particularly undermimes obtaining a GRC which updates the specifically labelled ‘Sex’ field on a birth certificate. So now we can have people with legal documents stating their ‘Sex’ being barred from same sex spaces aligning with their documentation.
To make it worse the UK has a weird “French” mustard which has nothing to do with France, its this darker, sweeter, less spicy mustard that Colman’s invented and no longer make but you can still find own brand ones in the supermarket. Actual French mustards are referred to by name.
English mustard is a thing though.
