  • I really like post-rework Nyx and she can do pretty much any content nowdays but imma be honest, I’m still not a big fan of mind control or absorb.

Mind control takes way too much effort to setup for too little gain, even if you ignore the victim sometimes stumbling into the nullifier and wasting it. Absorb is boring to use and doesn’t do that much compared to regular weapons even in a best case simulacrum scenario with a good buffed MC enemy active. Assimilate is, as it has always been, just an invulnerability toggle and nothing more and that’s not even that necessary nowadays when she’s sucking up armor and overguard from the numerous eximi enemies.

…but her other abilities and passive make up for it so it’s not a huge dealbreaker. A fallback invulnerability ain’t bad to have and you can always subsume sth like Nourish or Roar on her #1, it goes well with her high strength and duration stats.

Speaking of armor sucking, I really like Arcane Battery on nyx, you can easily maintain over 1k energy without Flow. She doesn’t really need it but it’s always fun to see

  • Thanks for explaining, I think I understand now 😁. I never really delved too much into WF theorycrafting because the game is kinda too easy as it is, but I love reading about stuff like this because it is interesting from a development perspective. It seems like they calculate the damage at the moment when the bullet is fired and in this case, once they have to calculate all the conditionals when it actually hits the target, they don’t know all the internal parameters for damage calculation so too many things get multiplied? I wonder if it’s actually a huge technical undertaking to actually fix this, sounds like the bug has been around for a while after all.

Maybe the real damage nerf DE needs to do across the board is just fixing the damage formula, that would at least somewhat normalize the stats for a change. It seems so easy to take advantage of these bugs even if you dont explicitly go out of your way to abuse them

Maybe it’s just been a long work day but can you ELI5 perhaps? What is a conditional critical check? Why do you say “modded crit” when referencing a not-mod source of crit, in this case a passive ability, isn’t that the opposite of a “modded crit”? Why would a direct damage increase from Galvanized Aptitude (if that’s what you mean by “impact”) affect crit chance and get it up to tier 6?

Does this even have anything to do with Yareli or is it just Acuity+Xata’s Whisper shenanigans, is it all just exploiting a bug? I don’t understand what a simple crit chance increase (on paper) has to do with all of this…

I’ve been wanting to give Yareli a serious try for a while now, can’t wait until the prime comes out to finally dump all the forma into her. I like the generalist all-purpose frames and with her good CC, DR and damage potential she seems perfect. I wish I liked her aesthetic more though, or that she had a different enough deluxe skin…

No Nukor as a recommended secondary? I thought the increased crit chance would pair well with its high crit damage (although most of that is irrelevant now that we have Secondary Enervate that makes it even more OP anyway)

  • Ok time to gush about Frost!

I just love the new Frost+Tenet Glaxion build with all the freeze/cold arcanes and augments, everything just fits so well and it makes for a perfectly balanced well-rounded frame.

You want massively increased crit damage on enemies that are frozen in place?

Do you like infinite energy orbs?

A weapon with excellent ammo economy and awesome looking chain effects capable of freezing and then shattering entire rooms within seconds?

Excellent armor strip and overguard generation on the same ability?

Want to support allies by also giving them overguard and additional cold damage on all weapons?

    A built-in helminth slot (rip ability #2)?

A build that actually feels like it has perfect synergy and every part of it plays well with each other?

Want to be universally loved and cherished when you load into a (mobile)defense or excavation mission?

Are you also a very horny individual?

Look no further, give Frost a try!

  • Alright I remembered why I disliked playing Zephyr despite how powerful her abilities are: she is just nightmareish to control in any non-open world mission lol. Tailwind is super fast but it also constantly gets you stuck in walls or floor unable to stop. Even on Hollvania I lose more time trying to untangle myself from the wall or some random clutter than I save by zooming through a street. It feels like she has to go through the entire duration of the ability no matter what obstacle she hits or which button you press which just makes it feel unresponsive and unusable.

Her low-gravity slow fall is also messing with my muscle memory of every other frame falling normally and I’m not going to waste an eximus slot trying to fix it…

Jade and Hildryn got some love when it comes to their flying abilities and I think Zephyr is really due for a similar care package

  • Energy nexus is really underrated, I’ve started putting it on some frames like Cyte and it’s makes for a much smoother experience.

c/RoastMyBuild? https://i.imgur.com/8hfHTDB.jpeg (might actually be an interesting idea for a community)

If #3 alone is not enough for survivability I think I’ll replace streamline with rolling dodge or primed redirection, I’m probably being too paranoid about energy usage.

Dunno about the aura slot, maybe I should be a good samaritan and reforma to fit in Power Donation?

It’s actually tough to make build when you can’t just hyperfixate on strength, I’m not used to it lol. We have so much room for activities

  • Honestly, I also have no idea why I don’t play her more often. I remember using Zephyr for defense missions many years ago but I guess nowadays there are just newer, flashier frames to play? I’m guessing if DE drop a good deluxe skin for her she’s gonna be played a lot again.

How do you build her mr Zephyr main? Any augments that I ought to take, any specific stat I should maximize or do I just go for the usual 155/130/145/130 simple spread? Strength maybe seems like a possible dump stat, at least enough to mod overextended, and Funnel Clouds might be a good mod to slot? Will Jet Stream be addictive and I won’t be able to play WF without it anymore?

  • I dunno, I did the first fight with felarx and it took a while, the incarnon mode fire wasn’t doing that well with the weak points either. On later attempts I tried my one true love Lex Prime Incarnon and it was melting the boss weakpoints, just sweeping through the tank and destroying all weakpoints in one charge. Even the regular fire oneshots the weakpoints in the first above-ground phase which makes it so satisfying to pop them all in one aimglide.

I’ve heard about the heavy slam build strategy and haven’t tried it but allegedly it’s a good one too.

Also keep in mind that you get the benefits from the calendar Hex overrides - the longer you wait the easier it’s gonna be as you continue stacking upgrades (just remember to do it before the calendar year resets).

  • Ok so I finally built him and had around a day to play around with Cyte and I gotta say, he feels very powerful although the game seems to devolve to clicking the bright spots in the wall 😁 Truly a masterful sniper experience

The invisibility is easy to maintain but I do find that eventually some enemies manage to group around me and attack me anyway, I guess the sniper is loud enough to give away your position anyway. So you do have to kinda rely on your allies to protect you if you don’t play actively, and in return they get to not see any enemies since you’ll be killing entire groups with a single shot 3 walls away.

    It’s a weird frame for sure…

I actually love it, it doesn’t feel like a slog but I guess I am cheesing it a bit. It’s much more fun than the Murmur boss since instead of being a damage sponge with tons of attenuation, here you actually have to move around the area, aim at weakspots, grab the RPG from other units, CC the healers in the 2nd phase, etc… It’s dynamic and requires skill over fighting dmg attenuation IMHO.

And in the end, what’s wrong with cheese? It’s called bringing the right tool for the right job and being prepared/adaptable, whether that’s Unairu/PSF, Incarnon weapons, armor strip, rolling guard or w/e else you might need.

edit: I have been doing the secret apex H-09 fight for the accolade glyphs and honestly it’s one of the more satisfying accomplishments in recent memory. Not only is the fight pretty fun and maybe even too easy with the correct weapons, just the feeling of seeing these really pretty glyphs as my loadout icons or backroom decorations is 10/10.

If I can endure the much longer 60 eyes setup and fight I should probably go for that one too…

I want to like incarnon melees but they are always so tricky to maintain for me. I like to rely on guns most of the time, only pulling out the melee when needed and that doesn’t work well when you need to maintain the combo counter and worry about the time limited incarnon mode.

The only one that I liked was Okina because it has the “freeze combo decay when stowed” ability

I haven’t used Arca T. in a long time so I decided to give it a try since it was already upgraded a bit and this shit is just ridiculous in the simulacrum! Basically just galvanized reflex, seismic wave and crit mods, even without any capacitor charges, basically wipe out any battle group in one or two slams!

I bound the heavy attack on a mouse side button so it’s not as bad, but there’s still the drawback that it doesn’t pull the melee weapon out if you’re in mid air like regular E does, you have to swing it once before jumping and then heavy attack.

I haven’t gotten a single blueprint for his parts yet, having just atrocious luck with bounties, so I can’t contribute much here besides saying that I’m looking forward to trying him out. Between his stealth, wallhacks and all the new arcanes/mods that enhance stealth attack I think people are going to make some crazy busted builds with him.

One thing I have noticed is that resupply never runs out on Ocucor, so do with that knowledge what you wish
