Oh, yeah. I didn’t mean to imply that getting a job with a disability is easy or that employers actually follow laws. I was more trying to point out that a personality disorder is a disability, because most people won’t see it that way

FoxyFerengi@startrek.websiteto Technology@programming.dev•Menstrual tracking app data is a ‘gold mine’ for advertisers that risks women’s safetyEnglish2·10 hours agoI remember similar articles back in '17 or so, mostly because I reached out to a few friends warning them not to track their periods on apps. There were threats of charging women who miscarry with murder back then, too
My therapist told me that a diagnosis of a mental health disorder means you have a disability*. So if they choose not to hire you because of your ASPD diagnosis, in the US at least, that’s discrimination against a protected class. I have AvPD, and that was a concern for me too
*(although many disorders don’t always earn the label “disability” when a person is seeking benefits)

What does he think the goal of FEMA was? If it’s failed people, it’s because it keeps getting whittled down in the face of larger and more expensive disasters

It also feels like they’ve doubled their height (or more) over the last ten-15 years

My acid reflux has nothing to do with acidic or basic foods, and everything to do with the ratio of fat I’ve eaten or how many alcoholic drinks I’ve had in an evening. Beer is about a hundred times less acidic than soda (for reference) and soda doesn’t set my reflux off
My point is that human bodies are weird and we react in weird ways to food. That’s why we have to trial foods
I am going to ask a really silly question: Have you tried using a panty liner? (yes, the period product!) They tend to make panties a little more structured while still allowing for natural movement, and I assume it will help with a gaff too

I served under Dubya and had a similar experience. I usually just volunteered for watch when something like that happened lol

Millions of American people with Irish ancestry fly or even have the Irish flag tattooed on themselves. They even flew it in protests and marches last year over how Biden responded to the genocide in Gaza, but I’m sure that’s totally different

I’d prefer no armed police, but the less than lethal aspect especially makes them emboldened to shoot without any consideration. What goes through someone’s head when they shoot a person who made the mistake of falling down? “easy target”?
That woman might be lucky if she survives, and without brain damage, and it really turns my stomach that they didn’t have the decency to call for an ambulance

Sometimes I imagine they must be feeling the same thing I feel when I need to make eye contact during a long conversation
Fair! I’ve only taken organic chemistry so far, so that’s what I remembered
Some molecules have a rotation that is centered on a chiral carbon atom and is named by the way the other atoms of the molecule rotate. There are some rules to it, but L is levorotatory and means it rotates to the left or counter-clockwise. D is dextrorotatory and spins to the right, or clockwise.
Edit: spelling errors lol
FoxyFerengi@startrek.websiteto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is a parent expressing regret of giving birth to a child directly to that child a normal thing that parents do?28·3 days agoThat is something my mother said to me a lot. Along with, “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out of it”. It’s fucked up, because it’s not like anyone chooses to be born. These are not normal things for a parent to say by any means. It’s emotional abuse.
You deserve better than that! It’s not easy cutting ties with family, but life is a lot easier when you’re not dealing with such a toxic, resentful human in your life.
It’s been 13 years since this documentary. The callousness of her command is not surprising, but I am sad that nothing has changed in Norfolk despite all the things that have come to light since 2012. A few young women went missing while I was in the Navy. One died that I know of. I have life long injuries and PTSD. All of it at the hands of our own shipmates
