romanticizes trailer trash poverty
I don’t think that was the dev’s intention. I could be wrong though.
I don’t think it’s that kind of game. 😅
The Wandering Village seems to be another apt game comparison.
Mars Attracts was released in early access today.
Beyond These Stars was made by Balancing Monkey Games, who previously released Before We Leave. Beyond These Stars is clearly inspired by the gameplay in Before We Leave.
I like Before We Leave, it was a fun somewhat casual space exploration and planetary resource management game. The biggest issue by far was the lack of space which I found distracting.
Looking forward to Beyond these Stars.
it is 100%, no ifs ands or buts about it, going to be a sewage system
This had me chuckling. :) Especially the use of “sewage system” relative to the more commonly used “cesspool” or “septic tank”.
A sewage system is indeed a bigger shithole than a cesspool or septic tank.
Btw, not making any judgment about the advertised community.
Gary Oldman said squadron 42 was coming out next year
Mark Hamil said that something called “Squadron 54” was coming out soon, this was half a decade ago.
What does you having fun with friends in star citizen have to do with the discussion about it being a scam?
These things are unrelated.
There are companies with 50K employees with working delivery (no JPEG of an oil barrel) where the management was found to engage in fraud.
It’s not like the only type of scam possible is a day 1 rugpull.
I’ve haven’t had the chance to play Endzone 1/2, but they have been on my watchlist (there are so many good games these days).
Pizza Connection 3 was okay, albeit a bit bland and not a good sequel to the Pizza Connection series.
Good luck to everyone at the studio and hope they find new positions quickly.
I remember them announcing that SQ404 was entering a “polishing” phase in late 2023.
At that point and to this day, they failed to finalise a flight model, develop an armour/shield system and implement engineering gameplay.
Arguably these are critical elements for a release with space sim gameplay. Although if SQ404 does release, I think it will be 30 hours of Wing Commander The Movie level cut scenes (space bulldozer) and script, with bored sounding Hollywood actors counting the seconds till they can leave Chris Roberts’ mocap studio.
Inside Chris Roberts’ Mocap Studio:
Roberts: Hehehe. Hey, Mark! You know how I came up with the Vanduul? Hehe.
Hamil: No, how?
Roberts: Ehehe. Vandals to Vanduul! Get it? Hehehe. Pretty smart, right? Hehehe.
Hamil: Very original.
Roberts: Did you know the Vandals were a Germanic tribal grouping that raided the Roman Empire? Bet you didn’t know that! Hehehe.
Hamil: I am in awe of your creativy!
Roberts: I know, right! Hehehe.
Ok Mark, enough farting around. Pretend you are riding a space bulldozer!
Congrats and welcome to the mod team!

Tony Tina, why are you bustin my balls?
Didn’t know this was from the creators of Dorfromantik.
This is from the creators of The Pale Beyond, Bellular Studios. While there are a lot of restaurant management games these days, I think we can rely on Bellular to provide great art, a distinct atmosphere and a solid narrative.
The game is set in the same time period as The Pale Beyond too.
It does sound strange to say that Genshin Impact has sold out. That seems part and parcel of being a gacha game.
Sure, but that doesn’t mean one has to go along with their DLC policy. It’s reasonable to be aligned with such a business model (especially when there is competition in the indie segment that is far more reasonable about DLC than Paradox).
All this stuff sounds like Randy Pitchford building out his personal brand.
I wish anything involving Pitchford was not reported on (at all).
