I am lucky to have been born in a country where I was able to have a year off from work. Then a good job where I had very flexible work hours and spent a lot of it working from home. It took a massive load off my shoulders and meant I could focus on raising our child, and adapting to our new life. Parental leave should be a year minimum, world wide
