I mean, its just honking horns. Its less annoying than blocking the road like those eco guys do.

You miss the part where they were blocking roads while honking? Hell there were splinter groups blocking the border crossings. lol

          just honking horns

And blocked roads. And mailslot fires. And verbal and physical and sexual harassment of people trying to go to work. And murder threats against the PM.

Add in the fact that it was because they were afraid of needles and it’s just embarrassing for them; and for us having to share a country with people so stupid and bigoted and clueless and self-important.

For the residents of that area, while trying to sleep, work from home or just live, the continuous honking was creating a ton of distress

what’s become known as the “Freedom Convoy”

They wish. “Karen convoy” or Needle Weenie Express" is more like it.

also the term ‘protesters’ … if it were any other ethnic group in the country that did this … no one would have a problem labelling them ‘terrorists’

just think of it … if a few hundred all Indigenous protesters had taken control of the capital like these guys did … how many would have been beaten, jailed, bloodied and bruised on the first day? … after a month, it wouldn’t have been if they would have been shot, it would be a question of how many were shot.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

One of the organizers of the 2022 convoy protests in Ottawa told truckers to “grab that horn switch” and “let it roll as long as possible” if police tried to dislodge them, according to video played at his trial Thursday.

The two organizers of what’s become known as the “Freedom Convoy” are facing charges for the role they played in spearheading the protests against COVID-19 restrictions, which gridlocked large swaths of downtown Ottawa for several weeks.

Barber is facing an additional charge of counselling others to disobey a Feb. 7, 2022 court order that banned loud honking in Ottawa’s downtown core.

The majority of videos introduced as evidence so far have featured Barber, a trucker from Swift Current, Sask., whose social media exploded in popularity leading up to and during the protests.

As the videos sourced from his TikTok account played, Barber sat in the first row of the courtroom, directly behind his lawyers, occasionally jotting notes into a notebook.

That happened again Thursday, as court wrapped up early to allow lawyers to consider legal arguments over issues that have come up over the admissibility of certain evidence — specifically, some of the social media posts.

The original article contains 546 words, the summary contains 193 words. Saved 65%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Trials? What crimes exactly? Lots better protesters to go after. You know. Ones that burn stuff and loot stuff.

      Nice whataboutism.

We can prosecute these idiots for their crimes while prosecuting other people for their crimes too.

The article makes it pretty clear what they’re accused of doing. They also posted about it in tons of places and recorded themselves doing it, so as humans with eyes, ears, and brains, we can conclude that they actually did this.

          So… yeah.

On top of what the other guy said, a whole lot of those “protestors” frequently assaulted and harassed residents of the city. Oh, and a direct demand of the organizers was to overthrow the democratically elected government. So those crimes.
