I fucking love that Repugnnts tried to frame their opposition around the idea that this money should be spent on securing the border.

Those slimy, Russian cock gobblers shut down the most aggressive border bills in history.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Biden, who worked with congressional leaders to win support, is expected to quickly sign the legislation and start the process of sending weapons to Ukraine, which has been struggling to hold its front lines against Russia.

In an interview with The Associated Press shortly before the vote, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said that if Congress hadn’t passed the aid, “America would have paid a price economically, politically, militarily.”

The $61 billion for Ukraine comes as the war-torn country desperately needs new firepower and as Russian President Vladimir Putin has stepped up his attacks.

“The President has assured me that the package will be approved quickly and that it will be powerful, strengthening our air defense as well as long-range and artillery capabilities,” Zelenskyy said in a post on X on Monday.

In an effort to gain more votes, Republicans in the House majority also added a bill to the foreign aid package that could ban the social media app TikTok in the U.S. if its Chinese owners do not sell their stake within a year.

But congressional leaders had to navigate strong opposition from a growing number of conservatives who question U.S. involvement in foreign wars and argue that Congress should be focused instead on the surge of migration at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The original article contains 953 words, the summary contains 215 words. Saved 77%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Well Ukraine, this is why we can’t retire. But, I don’t mind having to work a few more years so that you can live free.

Slava Ukraini. I wish we could have sent you the 26 destined to further genocide the Palestinian people.

You can’t retire because of 50 years of corporate propaganda telling the workforce unions were bad, and you needed to give tax breaks to billionaires because they are awesome.

Not because the military gave Ukraine old weapons that were going to rot in wearhouses not being used and in return they will employ American workers to make new and better ones for our military.

I agree it would be better to send more to Ukraine than sending it to Israel. But…

Well Ukraine, this is why we can’t retire.

      That is flat out false.
