I am thinking of starting a hardcore world after my boyfriend told me about how he has a world he started since 2017. I’m just not sure if I want to play vanilla or a mod pack.
Personally, I never do it. I like to invest quite a bit into a world. The idea of having that being taken away because I do something silly feels awful.
To each their own of course. I can imagine it gives it that more of a thrill.
Could be a good idea for you to determine why you would want a hardcore world and what you’d feel if that ends.
Yeah, I was thinking of what might happen if I spend too much time and I end up dying to a glitch lol.
Its not that likely if you’re not on bedrock! 😅 I still don’t know how they’re trying to implement hardcore there…
Bedrock has always been slow in my experience. It’s not as fast as Java. But there also that slight chance of me dying to a glitch on bedrock then it is in Java lol. That I can agree more 😂
To add to this: Yes, it does feel absolutely awful to lose the world when you die in hardcore.
However, I also find the investment into the admittedly temporary and fragile world to be really rewarding. Doing things has a greater feeling of accomplishment, even if they’re the mundane actions of just staying alive in survival.
Still reeed pretty hard when on my longest-running hardcore I died to piglins while bed-mining because I forgot to bring a backup gold helmet.
If you’re good at the game, go for it, try it!
If not, well, also try it, but it might not last long ahah
I would say vanilla is the way to go. It might be worth doing if you want a real challenge and have experience playing.
I prefer creating stuff and living on the edge versus surviving alone so it’s not for me.
Personally I don’t see the point of hardcore, but then I don’t like the idea of losing everything. I suppose some people get an extra thrill that it could happen, or they want to see how many days they can make it. But you could also just play on Hard mode and quit that world if you die, or you could give yourself say 3 lives instead of one. The good thing about Minecraft is you can set whatever rules and challenges you want for yourself, it’s all up to you. :)
