They told a very coherent story about how Apple is making its product, the iPhone and the products on it – the apps — less useful for consumers in the name of maintaining their dominance.”

Every fucking tech company is doing this these days. It’s incredibly frustrating as a power user to watch all of the features that made software useful, powerful, and fun, disappearing behind dumbed down, useless, UIs that do nothing except drive you towards more ads, more subscriptions, or more of whatever content they want you to mindlessly consume. It’s fucking depressing is what it is.

The DOJ is making the case that Apple’s 65–70 percent share of the smartphone market gives it dominance.

What? That didn’t sound right to me, so I checked a few sources and none of them support this claim. Here’s one such example. Where are they deriving this statistic from?

I bet Tim Cook felt his legacy was going to be the Vision Pro, but it will more likely be that he led to company into massive legal issues. He really has walked Apple right into it.
