I feel like I should hate that part of his design, but I end up loving it every damn time
It is quite an unexpected turn and it doesn’t feel nearly as bullshitty as other boss mechanics in other games
It can be blocked and is quite easy to dodge, but it’s a low-ish damage attack to surprise you if you stay too far out of range.
It’s honestly really good design to get you back in closer range without being particularly punishing.
