      It would be terrible if you want to be serious about it. There is a ton of great information that would be lost if it happened.

      We’d need Odysee or PeerTube to be a serious competitor people could switch to first.

        No user hosted video platform can succeed unless the hoster gets massive amounts of donations. The storage costs alone would be astronomical, but the real kicker would be the power bill. Transcoding to numerous people at different qualities requires tons of power.

          Why does it need to be profitable? An open source solution developed by volunteers only needs to sustain itself.
