Image description: A road sign reads: Welcome to Scotland
The grass has been mowed up to the sign, and no further.
Caption: England can cut their own fucking grass

In the US is really common to have the actual road turn into a pristine asphalt ribbon or into a Sarajevo-in-the-90s pot holed mess as you cross county or state lines.
Related. (One of my fav political quotes.)
I had to look up a source for this quote: https://www.scotsman.com/news/opinion/letters/the-diary-2508490
Apparently it was said on radio, but it’s quoted in the article.
Funny but as has been pointed out before they both mow their own sides and probably on different days.
Admittedly I’m from the US, but from what I remember watching a Last Week Tonight episode about Scotland wanting to breakaway, and seeing how they tend to be treated by UK leadership, I totally get it. I think it’s more than fair that England cut their own grass
Besides where would you stop if you started cutting on the English side?
Maybe just tell them you will only cut the Scottish side and cut an additional meter or 2 every time (moving the sign each time of course)
