This is the best summary I could come up with:

Nasser hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis went out of action early on Sunday, Gaza health ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qidra said.

Qidra said water supply to the hospital had halted because generators had been out of action for three days, sewage was flooding emergency rooms and the remaining staff had no way of treating intensive care patients.

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the head of the World Health Organization, said in a tweet on X on Sunday that Nasser hospital was “not functional anymore”.

More than half the enclave’s 2.3 million Palestinians have sought refuge in the southern city, after having obeyed Israeli evacuation orders earlier in the war.

Gantz, a retired general and one of the war cabinet’s three members, represents an influential voice but not the final word on what might lie ahead.

The latest blow to Gaza’s destroyed healthcare sector came as Israel prepared for an assault of the southernmost city Rafah, home now to more than a million mostly displaced Palestinians living in desperate conditions.

The original article contains 685 words, the summary contains 170 words. Saved 75%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

The headline is a bit contradictory. Either it is completely out of service or functioning but not both. Presumably they mean it was the largest functioning one before it was turned into the current state.

The ‘completely out of service’ part is a quote from a relevant person (not the author), and it seems publications frequently try to use quotes in their titles, which could explain the phrasing. Based on the article, it could also be an intentional choice. It sounds like the hospital is still functioning in regards to some staff and patients are inside the hospital (and possibly can’t leave), but it is completely out of service in the sense that the staff can’t actually take care of the patients or accept new ones.

Or it’s just confused Hamas propagandists stumbling over their own words. It’s not like these “health officials” have been reliable in the past.

Fuck Hamas. And fuck the Israeli government that deliberately created them because they make a convenient excuse for genocide veiled as war.

“We should kill children because they might grow up to be terrorists” ok child killer

They will become terrorists if their families are murdered by Israeli bombs. Israel is doing a tremendous amount to empower Hamas right now. You must be very invested in giving Hamas more recruits.

Don’t put words in my mouth. That’s not at all what I said and you know that, but you cared more about making a cheap shot than having a serious discussion.

If what you said were true, then Hamas would be more popular in Gaza (where Israeli bombs are falling) compared to the West Bank (where they are usually not). Except that’s not at all the case.

Also, don’t think I didn’t notice how you glossed over me correcting your ridiculous claim about Israel having created Hamas by moving the goalposts to another generic social media talking point. Why are self-proclaimed pro-Palestinians only using the same small number of paper-thin talking points?
