Top Republicans now believe they will fail to get the support to pass the package, but they still plan to hold the vote Tuesday evening in an effort to hammer Democrats over Israel, GOP sources said.

They can’t lead, they only know how to obfuscate, lie, cheat, steal and betray.

In a “Dear Colleague” letter to lawmakers over the weekend, [Mike] Johnson attacked senators for excluding him and the House from bipartisan negotiations over a border security deal, which is expected to be paired with aid for Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan.

Whenever I see something like this, I think of an ER staffer who was telling the story of a violent patient who punched a nurse. The man was instantly pounced on by doctors, nurses, and hospital security, who restrained him in ways he interpreted as hostile and unfair.

She said: “He reacted with shock and outrage, as if we were old friends who had just betrayed him.”

Don’t be a dick and then get outraged if people react accordingly.

Plus, there is a process for the house to weigh in on senate bills. They two chambers have to come to an agreement on any bill before it passes. He literally would always have a say in it, just later in the process.

Him whining about not being extended a courtesy is just pathetic.

The Republicans know this will not pass. Put something together that will pass. You don’t work for Trump, you are supposed to work for the voters.

Democracy is slow. It takes time, and more importantly coordination, to work properly. It’s only dead if you decide to stop showing up to vote, if you stop sharing your views, if you decide thought and discussion aren’t worth it anymore.

No, and you wonder why presidents keep pressing to give themselves more executive authority. The screaming children in Congress who never learned how to share are about to give the American people one more nothing-sandwich, just like every meal we’ve been served for decades.

You remember that recent story about the fact that we can seemingly go to war without Congress’ approval? Yeah, just imagine trying to get these twats to agree to do anything militarily. They’d still be arguing after the smoke cleared.

Simple reason: the base is rabid for Trump, and Trump is extremely vindictive. Cross him, and your grasp on power is gone. Cozy up to him, and you get just a bit more power, which is all these ghouls care about.

95% of them don’t believe in anything except whatever gets them ahead.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Speaker Mike Johnson’s push to pass a standalone package for $17.6 billion in Israel aid was on the brink of collapse Tuesday amid opposition from both Republicans and Democratic leaders, according to multiple GOP sources.

Inside a closed caucus meeting Tuesday morning, House Democratic leadership made a forceful case against supporting the standalone Israel aid package to members.

The House Homeland Security Committee’s top Democrat, Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, called the effort “a trap.”

Top Republicans now believe they will fail to get the support to pass the package, but they still plan to hold the vote Tuesday evening in an effort to hammer Democrats over Israel, GOP sources said.

President Joe Biden has also issued a veto threat against the standalone Israel aid bill, citing a desire to include it as part of a larger national security package.

In a “Dear Colleague” letter to lawmakers over the weekend, Johnson attacked senators for excluding him and the House from bipartisan negotiations over a border security deal, which is expected to be paired with aid for Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan.
