Corrupt apartheid wants extremist elements to thrive to justify continued hatred of a group of people…

Where have we seen that before?

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The EU’s top diplomat Josep Borrell on Friday openly accused Israel of having financed the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

“Hamas was financed by the Israeli government in an attempt to weaken the Palestinian Authority,” Borrell was quoted as saying by Spanish newspaper El País.

In his speech Friday, Borrell — who is in charge of EU foreign policy — also stressed that creating a Palestinian state is necessary in order to solve the ongoing conflict.

Borrell’s comments came just days before EU foreign ministers are scheduled to hold several meetings with their counterparts from Israel, the Palestinian Authority and key Arab countries in Brussels.

The ministers are going to discuss on Monday the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza, where Israeli troops have been carrying out a relentless bombing campaign and ground assault for months, and the prospects for a future peace settlement.

Borrell, who has been the EU’s foreign policy chief since 2019, has a long track record of undiplomatic moments, including when he compared Europe to a “garden” and called the rest of the world a “jungle,” and the time he tweeted out a sensitive extradition-related document from U.K. authorities

The original article contains 606 words, the summary contains 189 words. Saved 69%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Netanyahu’s top foreign policy adviser, said in a statement. “After the October 7 massacre of over 1,000 Israelis…"

Haven’t they had time to count? What happened to 1,400? I’ve been wondering if that number would drop, to me that makes it look like the Israeli government was looking for a reason/excuse to do this.

I’m also suspicious of the Gaza Health Authority’s numbers. Of course, it would be impossible to get an accurate count in Gaza right now anyway.

I heard that number for like a month wondering if it would change.

Who knows maybe I’m reading too much into it and the guy was just saying “over 1,000” as a general way of talking about it.

They first stated around 1400 around. three weeks in they corrected it to 1139 as the official deathtoll.

With people missing, but presumed dead, uncertainty about people taken hostage, people in critical conditions in hospitals and quick reports of rough numbers that is plausible without malicious intent.

On the flipside in Gaza the 24000 could be a bit higher or lower too. But there is also another 7000-10000 that are most likely buried dead under the rubble of destroyed houses.

      Not the same.

You have to remember that Hamas was the resistance in Palestine. Palestine DID have another authority, and Israel wanted Hamas to overthrow them.

That’s what Israel financed. They didn’t do it after Hamas actually attacked, and fought back against them.

I don’t think that that Israel wanted Hamas to overthrow the Fatah.

Israel wants two parties of Palestinians fight each other so it could credibly claim to not having anybody to negotiate with, meanwhile building up some new settlements.

And that plan worked out for them for many many years.
