Why does this single out Alabama? Isn’t prison labor all over the US?

There’s a reason the land of the free has the highest prison population in the world by any metric you choose.

Eliminate the right to enslave prisoners and watch our prison/justice system fix itself REAL quick once it costs money instead of providing a free workforce.

Now who would’ve thought that carving out the tiniest legal area for slavery would be exploited by a slave state? Who could have possibly had the foresight to see that not abolishing slavery leaves open the possibility that it appears again?
