I’m not the person you’re replying to, but I am Australian and can give my 2 cents, what the grey market sellers are selling them for here in Australia anyway. Hell, wouldn’t mind paying a bit more than that too. I just want to buy it legit so I have all the warranty protections etc.

Shoot. If I knew a safe way for myself and the buyer, I’d do it and be the contact person for repairs. No reason gamers shouldn’t game

    • I have a small TV above my desk where I usually keep the security cameras around the house displayed. It’s perfect though for tracking nasty weather or watching things while I work.

  • From the official rules:

Once you provide the required information and submit the form you will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes. After you submit the form you will have the opportunity to earn up to three (3) additional entries. [snip]

    a) Create a Steam account. [snip]

Okay, that’s doable, I guess most people have one already

    b) Click the ‘follow’ button to follow @summergamefest on X. [snip]

Suuuuure. Who in their right mind would willingly go on X?

    c) Click the ‘follow’ button to follow @thegameawards on X. [snip]

Again X? How much did Elon pay them?

I figured, but without explanation and in the barebones context, it’s amusing, like Canadians have to earn the privilege for some reason. If other countries had a similar requirement it wouldn’t stand out, but it looks like you’re/they’re being singled out because of it.

Its the reason why why have to also have to put a ailable to select countries, as there are countries where raffles are basically forbidden. Anytime theres some odd requirements in the contest ToS, assume its because of countries respective lottory or gambling laws

McDonald’s used the same skill testing question for like 2 decades. At locations where they actually bothered to make you do it, they would give you a little cut of photocopied paper with an elementary school level pre algebra equation to solve. IIRC the answer was always 32 or maybe it was 36. I got a lot of free crap from people giving me the monopoly stickers they couldn’t be bothered to deal with over the years.

Edit: I tried to look up if anyone posted the exact problem and found someone posting on reddit regarding a different one. I made a screenie to save anyone else the reddit click.

It’s a legal loophole to get around our gambling regulations. Raffles are regulated, but tests of skill can be rewarded.

So now it’s a raffle followed by a “skill testing” arithmetic question.

Yep, all prizes need to be handled by Loto-Quebec or something of the sort, can’t remember the details, but the skill test might be enough to bypass it 🤔

I think a portion of the prize has to go to Loto-Quebec too, or something of the sort. I remember it looked quite complicated (so I don’t feel like delving into it again 😅)

It never worked for me. If the store didn’t tell me it was pushing updates and about to go live, then I could get through the first few clicks and then “something went wrong,”

So I backed off and waited a while. Then when I came back there was a queue system and I gave up.

Yeah, I tried entering 3 different game awards contests: OLED Steam Deck, Legion Go, and Super Mario world resort tickets.

The Legion Go and Super Mario World contests were glitchy but worked fine, but I could never get the steam deck one to work properly. Probably means they had a lot more people trying to enter the steam deck one than the two.

My personal anecdote is that I only really cared about the Steam Deck. I would’ve entered the Lenovo one if the Steam Deck one worked.

The reward website is having major issues right now, it’s not working for US zip codes either.

I mean, after refreshing a bunch of times because the “website is updating”, you’ll get there. I tried using a family member’s European postal code and it worked, but I think it’s only because it’s identical to an US one. My Canadian zip code just immediately turned the field red.

I am from Europe, I just entered the giveaway and then got back to bed.

How do you know the draw results?
