Exclusive: A heart transplant recipient tells Rhian Lubin how she feels a health insurance company is ‘gambling’ with the gift of life from her donor: ‘If they let me go into rejection, they’re not just risking my life — they’re letting his gift go to waste.’
Yeah i didn’t expect to see Dayton but there’s not much left to extract there. It keeps getting worse and worse and the brain drain has gotten cyclical.
Yeah the article showed she went to a college that some friends went to and it’s not even a bad school. Like nobody’s bragging about going to Wright State, but nobody I know complained about it either. And if Dayton was thriving it would be amazing, I’ve got fond memories of their oktoberfests when I was younger.
Honestly of all the states I think ohio is the most capable of a total revitalization, with maybe Michigan and Illinois next to it. But it involves making places like Dayton and Akron better. Cleveland cannot carry the state, and the most hated asswipes in Columbus (the state government) need to stop ruining it.
Other states mandate insurers cover things. Other states have implemented the ACA particularly strongly like Kentucky. Other countries have universal healthcare. Ohio took the medicaid expansion but honestly that’s where it ends outside focusing on their state of the art hospitals at OSU, the Cleveland Clinic, and the University of Cincinnati. This woman’s death was a social failure and I’m tired of America pretending deaths like this are inevitable.

education only leads to educated misery in ohio, what do you expect?
it’s going to be a miserable shithole until the empire falls and we land back
