I know, but I think Cuomo is much more representative of the Democratic establishment that has been in place for several decades now. Mamdani comes from outside that establishment. In any other democracy, the two candidates would not be in the same political party, since they are not ideologically aligned, but, because the US is a de facto two party system, they are both technically “Democrats.”

I feel that establishment Democrats have often used Republicans as a threat in many elections, to basically extort their voters. Specifically, they have used the Republican threat as a way to keep the establishment Democrats in power. “If you nominate a progressive or leftist, you’ll split the party and the Republicans will win, so best just to play it safe and fall in line behind the establishment.” They’re not necessarily wrong, but it nonetheless feels like extortion.

That’s why I’ve often said the Democrats (remember, I’m talking about establishment, neoliberal Democrats) and the Republicans have been engaged in a kind of good cop/bad cop routine for many years. The Republicans being a party of violent lunatics has been useful to the Democrats. Whenever Democratic voters try to deviate too much from the neoliberal establishment, the Democrats have been able to say, “hey, if you’re not willing to cooperate with us, we’ll just send in the Republicans again, and you know those guys aren’t as nice as us,” kind of a thing.

And why would a Mamdani win be such a threat to Trump, that he felt the need to “take over” NYC? He’s basically saying, “Don’t vote for him, because Trump wouldn’t like it”. Or even worse, “Vote for me, and Trump might leave you alone.”

Cuomo says, “If you don’t vote for me, Trump and the corporate oligarchy will exact revenge, because I’m a little bitch baby bought and paid for by the oligarchs.” Fuck that noise. To anyone in NYC that wants to vote for Mamdani, don’t be intimidated. If you want to vote for Cuomo, I don’t have anything nice to say to you. DO NOT BOW TO FASCISTS!

Cuomo said the race is down to a democratic socialist in Mamdani and himself, a true Democrat. “What’s really happening is there’s a civil war within the Democratic Party going on, and the Democratic Party is looking for its identity. And there are two factions. You have the democratic socialists, and then you have the Democrats, they have a very extreme view that they’re pursuing, which is different than the Democratic Party,” Cuomo said Monday on “The View.”

Well, he’s not wrong about that. But after years of being told to vote for Democrats just because they’re not Republicans, and being offered a real alternative that fights for the people, he is wrong about that.

“I learned a lesson, a painful lesson, which is to be much more cautious about everything you say, any joke, any comment,” Cuomo said Monday. “I won’t kiss a person on the cheek unless they initiate a kiss. So they taught me a lesson, just to be super cautious, because there is a sensitivity that has evolved that is real. If people feel it, it’s true, and it has to be respected.”

Right, it’s all just a big misunderstanding, a joke, can’t you take a joke …

“and himself, a true Democrat” uhh, Cuomo, you’re running as an independent after losing the Democratic primary. You’re opposing the Democrat Party. That’s the exact opposite of a Democrat.

ooh he means neoliberal corrupt corporate sellout. Got it.
