When someone applies for Social Security Disability Insurance, currently if they’re over age 50, that increases their chance of being approved. This rule would increase that to 60, meaning tens of thousands of 50-60 year olds will potentially be denied SSDI, which will either put them on the street or force them to take early retirement and have 30% lower Social Security retirement payments for the rest of their lives.
