It’s weird, it feels kind of like watching a Japanese dub of an English-language show, which I haven’t felt even with other adaptations of works originally in English. I guess it’s because it also uses the visual language of the comic? Pretty luxurious cast, though.
Anyway, the writing isn’t very good. A bunch of things just don’t seem to make any sense; the dumb incident at the office it sends half the episode or so on, the whole deal with the rating of the protagonist’s game by the streamer. Still not sure what the show is about, either, but I don’t think I have the motivation to find out.
Huh, I think I actually read some of this as a web comic. I remember it being… not great. Kind of a popcorn comic that just started creating drama for no reason. The way that it represents the game industry was pretty bad and the relationships felt forced. I could see the basic story beats working alright, but it would need to have some work done in the adaptation process, which doesn’t seem to be the case. Also, is it just me or are the game reviewer’s proportions really strange. Like his head is too small or something. I might give it one more episode, but I’m probably just going to drop this one.
Worth watching?
I turned it off in the middle because I got bored. And after watching half an episode, I still have no idea what this is supposed to be about. Starts off with some fantasy setting, then turns out it’s just a multiplayer game. Then it’s about MC making a game before it turns to some office drama complete with a passive-aggressive boss. I finally turned it off when the male side casts (including this passive agressive boss) started to hit on MC.
