Damn sux to be a gun owner in Canada. They didn’t even start the investigation because they found illegal devices, it was just because he ordered parts. The parts that got him in trouble were only discovered after the raid.

As a PAL and RPAL holder, this is fine. This dumb fucker had four 50 round drum mags and tools for manufacturing.Over half the magazines seized were illegal. This is not a responsible gunowner being railroaded by the gubberment. This is a fucking maniac who shouldn’t be near firearms.

I’m assuming the person you’re replying to is in the US, depending where they live those things are potentially not only legal but if they are, their purchases are untracked.

Lots of states don’t limit mag capacities, and manufacturing firearms is completely legal for people who can own guns. Even in the strictest states, you usually only need to let the state know and “permanently” affix the serial number granted by the state to the gun.

For the most part, the only thing the US federal government requires any tracking on is receivers/frames.

I mean yeah sure, but to act like someone disregarding a law that doesn’t exist a couple hundred miles to the south is inherently a “fucking maniac” is jumping the gun don’t you think?

I’m not saying they’re not but like, that doesn’t inherintly mean they are.

I know these things, I lived in the US for many years. It’s important to push back on the rhetoric. Canada’s restrictions are not the least bit unreasonable, even if they are inconvenient. e.g. I’d like to go shooting after work and then go out for a beer. I can’t do that because of restrictions on travel and storage. You know what? I drink beer and shoot on different nights. Problem solved.
