So from the context I’ve gleaned in this thread, the message is apparently “Don’t vote for Democrats, they’ll let immigrants and refugees come here just to get murdered at random by an American.” Who knew there was a compassionate side to their xenophobia?

NC has had a GOP majority in both legislative bodies since 2011, with a supermajority for much of that time. The democrats haven’t had a say in NC legislature for 14 years.
If we are going to politicize this event, the only direction to point fingers is to the right.
Tbf their governor has been a democrat since 1993, with the exception of 2013-2017. Even before then it had a long line of mostly democrats, from 1901-1973 was solid D governors, and even after that, R only holds the seat for a total of 18 out of 52 years.
But there was a Democrat voter within 12 miles of the tramsportation depot!

She’s the Ukrainian woman that fled the Russian invasion in Ukraine to the US and was then stabbed to death in a random attack on a train, with onlookers ignoring her pleas for help.

This happened in a town close to me and it’s all they have talked about for the last few weeks. She was murdered by a random guy that just wanted to kill a white person as he said right after he was done stabbing her and walked off the train.
Many are wondering about the passengers not doing anything, but the dude has a knife and it’s generally not a good idea to fight someone who just fatally stabbed someone else. So i can’t blame them for being in shock and not wanting to also die.
But the train she was on has always been sketchy and city leaders keep cutting back on police and security there, so politicians are using it in everyway they can to promote their agenda’s. Especially the republicans since Charlotte, NC is a mostly democratic city.

I mean. The Americans crowing like you’re describing (I’ve known many) treat cities like literal warzones and would absolutely not, in almost any scenario I can imagine, use public transit.
They are so scared, all the time, of the most normal stuff.
But also they somehow think people who live in cities, and who de facto navigate the supposed hellscape daily, are generally both foolish and weak. It’s an amazing knot of terminally unresolved internal tension, just like so much else of their neurotic (often at best) behavior.
(To be fair getting stabbed to death by a random stranger is not normal stuff so their fear has a basis this time I guess, congrats, deeply broken clocks)

(There was an infamous precedent in a 2 public shootings in the same mil. base! The first time they used guns to off the shooter, the soldiers killed more bystanders than the killer. The second time the soldiers used no guns, no one died…)
