A recent Grand Theft Auto 6 leak on TikTok may have come from a Rockstar Games employee’s kid::Rockstar Games will release the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 on December 5. But purported leaks of the game have already circulated on TikTok.

And I guess the parent so fired for the missing security around his work PC. (I mean, even when I used to live alone, I was locking my PC when I left my home office room to go for a coffee)

If I recall correctly the employee is very well regarded and very instrumental to the game (head of development or something like that) so I don’t think that will happen.

They should absolutely stop sharing passwords/leaving their computer unlocked though. They might also not be allowed to work from home anymore ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Purported leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6 footage on TikTok may have come from the child of a Rockstar Games employee, according to reports.

UK-based game news site Eurogamer first reported that a TikTok account called @i_see_in_4k uploaded two short videos claiming to be a “first look at GTA 6” on Saturday.

BREAKING:In a totally unexpected turn of events, it appears the ‘leaked’ footage has come from the son of a Rockstar Games employee.

“The evidence to suggest the video has come from someone related to the employee in question is fairly convincing,” GTABase said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In August, a UK court ruled that Arion Kurtaj was responsible for hacking Rockstar Games, leading to the “significant” leak of footage for GTA 6, IGN reported.

During his time in the hotel, Kurtaj used an Amazon Fire stick to access the internet and help with the hack on Rockstar Games, police said according to BBC.

The reason for that was because he could not have a pc or access to the internet but an amazon fire stick, is allowed since they do not expect him to use it for other purposes with the browser. Must have found a site that gave him access to a virtual machine or a VPS virtual private server to phish a rockstar games employee and from there access slack and then release footage of it on gtaforums.

Ok but what kind of hotel blocks the internet, but makes an exception for streaming sticks?

What if the hotel has fire sticks on all their TVs? The anti-theft devices will only slow down a determined thief.

Kurtaj was the only one who wasn’t allowed internet access because he was being held at the hotel awaiting trial for hacking another company. The fire stick was a way to loop hole himself out of the restrictions since police didn’t think he could use it for hacking apparently.

Damn that framerate sucks. Is it the TikTok video encoding? Or does Rockstar have some optimization in their future?

No, this is the full game ready to be released right now. They just want to wait with the release to piss people off.

Depends if the game has been ran under debug mode, which asks for a way more resources than usual. The game might be frame-locked during development as well to limit used resources. And no. I’m not trying to reassure myself.

Seeing as they still have well over a year until release, there is most likely very little optimization done for it. No point to do that before everything is finalized. But I wouldn’t worry too much, it’s gonna release on Xbox Series S which has a GPU somewhere around GTX 1060/1660 range - which will be 9 years old by the time the game comes out.
If your “gaming pc” is almost over a decade out of date, you can’t really blame the games if they don’t run well.

Don’t worry, by the time it comes to pc you’d have to have a more-than-a-decade-old gpu to have the same power. (They didn’t mention a pc release apparently, only console)
